I guess I also feel a bit passionate about it. Having seen my OH's problems with Toxoplasmosis, I don't know why his mum didn't do more to prevent the likeliness of it happening. She should have known better as a doctor.
But then again, I will be having children knowing that they will most likely have EDS. Which I guess is worse because I am having a child knowing that there is a big chance they will not be 100% healthy instead of doing something that has a very small chance0 -
Rups - my friends husband banned her from everything. She is a dietictian and really should know what is good and not! When we held a baby shower we had a cocktail one (At her request!!!) and she snook a sneaky one. It was dilute compared to the others, and she was 8 months gone, but she was so desperate to rebel!!
I think the key to it all is to learn to listen to your body. I ended up in hospital for the week before both my last two were born with high blood pressure. It was fine when I was confined to a hospital room because I wasn't dashing around all the time after everyone else. My Mum was pleased they kept me in as it meant I had no choice but to rest! If I wasn't in tune with my own body I would never have realised that something just didn feel right and I could have ended up putting my babies at risk.
If you learn to listen to your own body and trust yourself you will be able to apply these principles to your own baby too. Or that's what I think!

I got a bad headache everytime I visited my parents and it took me a while to realise it was because I wasn't allowed to drink Coke there so I wasn't getting any caffeine. Going cold turkey on caffeine is horrible so next time I reduced my caffeine slowly before going and then I didn't have headaches there any more.0 -
Oh Olokia... That really sucks! Well it did reduce the number of migraines, but it wasn't worth it! I would rather pay the price!:T0

Wow busy afternoon girlies... I think everyone should 'play' pregnancy the way that is right for them. My mum smoked throughout both her pregnancies and me and my brother were fine but that was a long time ago so the advise would have been completely different I expect.
I got the bus home due to the rain but I did do my davina workout dvd for the first time in months. I didn't quite manage it all but did most of it which I thought was quite good after the long gap I have had.
Not sure what I will do for dinner as the ring people don't come till 7.30 so guess I will see what time they go and do something quick.0 -
Wow, didnt realise there were so many rules! My sister in law is very much the type of mum who does everything by the book, esp when she was pregnant. Now that my nephew is over one, she's a bit more relaxed, if he walks into something or falls over he gets kissed better but she's not hovering over him like a hawk now0
