    Hi all,

Fourth last session with cousin tonight and 2lbs off my 14lb goal, 3lbs off this week, woohoo. Thought after the caramel apple granny fiasco I had put weight on.

Codemonkey, do you always eat porridge? Reason I'm asking is that I ate porridge every work day and most weekends (made with skimmed milk) and just the original one, thinking I was doing great but my cousin told me that porridge although filling doesn't always have the desired effect because of it being high carb. I've been seeing him for 7 weeks and have now lost 12lbs simply by NOT eating porridge. Ok, so not just that, but I've been following a high protein, low carb diet i.e. venison grillsteak and poached eggs for brekkie and it's really worked. Think I put down a rough guide on the first page.

P.S. I've got two boxes of porridge in my cupboard I'm just dying to get into, maybe once a week would be ok in future.

Swinstie, I tried low carb. It just gave me bad constipation and dodgy breath. I know its really effective for a lot of people, but sadly, it's not for me. I'm of Irish/Scottish stock and sadly I've inherited the love of potatoes and bread.

As soon as I came off it, I regained all the weight.

I wont blame carbs for me not being skinny. I just eat too much bad food. End of story. :rotfl::rotfl:

One of the points the guy who designed the diet I'm doing made is that our ancestors ate high carb diets and very little protein - meat not being easily come by, especially during rationing, and they weren't fat.

It's fabulous if it's working for you though. I'm very envious of people who can stick to diets like that.

Been very good today. It's my mum's birthday and we went out there and of course she was offering food, but I didn't eat anything because I had some pasta before I went out and I was full :j:j

ahh everyone is doing so well. well done..:0)

I was working from home yesterday as we were having our garden done, so I actualy managed to stay good and ate well. Today, I had an ice cream as its lovely and hot outside, and having been to Oxford Circus, I was dying. Not a good excuse I know. I do not feel too bad but will continue to think about eating well so I do not make it worse..

Like you codemonkey, I love my bread and pasta and can not give those up.I will def look into your diet. I need to as time is runiing out soon.. agghhhh

Very sleepy and want to go home though. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

I am feeling rather pleased today...went shopping and didn't buy a size 10 dress as the bust was TOO BIG!!! and the rest fitted perfect even over my bum :)
And then I went in Costas - had a skinny hot choc (I dont drink tea or coffee) and didn't even look at any of their cakes.
Now just about to have some fish for tea. Not sure how long it'll last once I slump in front of BGT and Corrie but for now I'm feeling good!

Was doing really well until h2b came to meet me yesterday and handed me an ice lolly. I kind of started to eat it without thinking. Then we had a bbq at the future in laws and fil2b kept filling my wineglass and there were strawberry tarts for pudding. It would have been rude to refuse. :rotfl:

I did go to the gym 3 times and zumba once this week so its not all bad. Now to enjoy my s days.

I'm sure that a bbq at the future in-laws counts as an S day..... ;):D

Hehe I think you're right. Especially as it was a hot day and that almost never happens in Scotland :rotfl:
