ahh i like your positive attitude. we can all do this.. The same issue with my man and his laptop! what is it with these men and their 'me' time? LOL. I just want to eat food that makes me full and not crave bad things. well done slowfading and codemonkey.

I came across a list of foods that boost metabolism and I have already misplaced it! haha. from what I can remember, it has things like sprinkling cinammon on food (hope thats right) and chillies, and having cold water as the body uses calories to warm it up in the body. This morning I read in the Metro (yeah reliable source - NOT! :0) ) that Pippa Middleton follows the Dukan diet. I have not read about it in detail and I wondered whether I should bother reading up on it? bah. all these diets!!!

Didn't do the gym today because yesterday I dropped my nearly full glass bottle of foundation onto the tiled floor of the loo, and cracked the bottom, so I had to make for the nearest estee lauder counter. I could have cried.

I've had raspberry porridge for breakfast and syrup porridge with raisins for lunch (cleverly forgot to buy a sandwich).

I have zumba tonight so i'll still get a cardiovascular workout. Also just been reading something that suggests if you work out too much you risk wasting muscle. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

A guy I work with is doing a different fad diet a year. Somewhat unsurprisingly, very few of them work.

And, a guy in my team turned 30 at the weekend and has bought packs of doughnuts, cakes, flapjacks, rolos and other yummy stuff and put it all on the desk opposite mine. Sob.

oh no.. we have the same here at work, the only difference being, a girl is getting married next week and she brought in some donuts, chocolate stuff and shortbread biscuits.. aghhh. I am so tempted but am trying hard. grrrrr...

your raspberry porridge sounds lovely though! :0). I enquired about zumba at my gym and get this! to make it a more 'popular' class, they only have one class on FRIDAY AFTER WORK!!. whos is going to go then? A friend at work suggested buying the Wii Zumba and said it was very good. I don't know as I have bought many exercise dvds which I havent even touched and a dance wii game but I have not even used that! what am I like?

Have booked my body pump tomorrow so looking forward to that! :0) Have eaten sensibly so far.. a quinoa salad with chicken pieces and a yoghurt. I have some mango and pineapple for later. :0) its always the dinner and aftr dinner.. grrr

H2b is on a shakes diet, where he is having those tony fergusson shakes, and they are working for him. i dont think stuff like that works for me, as I always think i will starve or have headaches, and when i do try them, thats exactly what happens!! hes doing well though so am wondering whether to join him?? hmm am unsure! i prefer eating real food!:-)

Oh codemonkey I will pm you now. ;-)

I think this week might be tricky for me - I started by drinking my own body weight in booze on Sunday at an engagement party (then had to work yesterday with an appalling hangover :o), then I was given some free chocolate by my boss for meeting targets, and tomorrow it's H2B's birthday, for which he has requested chocolate cake. Which obviously I will have to help him finish.....

Might just have to accept that I will eat far too much sweet stuff this week, and try to mitigate the damage with salads and healthy things at mealtimes!

Awww I really wish you guys hadn't told me that! I'm totally ravenous, won't get to eat til at least 7 and trying to ignore the yummy snacks in front of me. I nearly cracked and had a cookie but my boss swept in before me and took the last one. Still tempted by the mini muffins and galaxy cakes. Only 30 minutes to go. I can hold out til then.

I did say no!! :T for me!!

I can't snack sadly. I'm on a diet plan which is 3 meals a day and that's it. No sweets, no snacks, no seconds. I have some raisins in my desk but normally I don't get that hungry during the day. I'm due on though so today my body was demanding carbs. That probably explains the weight gain too.

I've decided to handle it like a smoker. Whenever I get a food craving, I pop in a bit of gum and chew that instead. I think I'm going to get through a lot of gum.

I eat when I'm hungry. I eat when I'm bored. I eat when I'm emotional. I eat when I'm stressed. I eat when I'm hormonal. I have a job that requires mega concentration and can be quite stressful and frustrating. I'm largely plugged into a computer all day and at the moment I'm facing a massive deadline so working extra hard. I work long hours with boys who's idea of a balanced meal is a pot noodle and a mars bar. I also have a hormonal condition that means it's difficult for me to lose weight. Despite this, I am still in the healthy BMI range. I just would rather be a little closer to the start of the range.

Anyway, got home and made a quick dinner, did some weights and crunches while I waited for it cook, then went to zumba and jumped around for an hour. So much more fun than the treadmill.

So day 2 of my restarted No S plan has gone without naughty snacks. Only 3 more days til my next S day.:j:j:j

codemonkey...how did you get onto that diet plan? I know I couldn't do one that banned snacks, and don't they say that regular grazing actually helps keep your metabolism going better than just 3 meals. Especially if those meals are small 'diet' ones you could be sending your body into the sort of reaction it does for starving ie conserves reserves and hinders rather than helps weight loss

I've come home from zumba tonight and couldnt be bothered even microwaving a baking potato so found an Aunt Bessie's toad in the hole and had that. And then a slice of home made victoria sponge which has generous butter icing in and on it. Oh and I just sneaked a couple of ben&jerry's phosh food frozen youghurt straight from the tub! I may live to regret that bit but today I am happy as I wore a pair of trousers that 2 motnhs ago wouldnt do up, and a month ago would only partly do up but wouldn't let me breathe in them. Today I wore them to work and they felt proper comfy - I breathed, walked, sat down and everything :)
