Just thought I'd show my face on this thread as I'm doing my best to watch what I eat before my big day, even though I'm only the groom
Been trying to eat healthily and up my exercise since I got engaged last September. I've made moderate progress so far (2 stone lost, almost) but the big day (July) is coming up fast! I've been upping my running distance recently to really try and kick the boot in to my belly, but am not seeing fantastic results - I'm trying to do 1 run of 10miles+ each weekend and a couple of shorter ones (5-7) in the week. I play football once a week, go climbing twice and play the odd game of badminton etc. As my distance has increased, though, I'm finding that I *need* to snack between meals, which I just didn't need to before. I'm having 3 weatabix for brekkie, a "normal" lunch (sandwich, sometimes a jacket potato) and a healthy dinner (we've found a bunch of low fat + low cal things to cook). Fruit just doesn't seem to fill me up and all the other snacks at work are choccy/crisps, so I feel like I'm no better off for doing the extra distance. I've not really lost any weight for the last couple of months - but I have been building a lot of muscle in my arms and chest, so I think fat must still be disappearing from somewhere.
I just feel a bit demotivated with the whole thing - does anyone have any good tips on how to keep the naughty treats at bay when your body is craving energy?0 -
Welcome Idiophreak! Wow, I feel tired just reading your exercise. No wonder you're hungry.
No idea for keeping the evil food cravings at bay, as this week has demonstrated. You're diet appears to be very carby though and you need protein to build muscle, so perhaps swapping your weetabix for bacon and eggs or your lunch to something high protein might help you feel more full.
Bear in mind that muscle weighs more than fat so if you're staying the same weight while still building muscle, you're obviously burning off the fat too.
Rups,I also have 2 months to my fitting and I'm panicking. I'm holding the 30 day shred in case of emergency.
I'm starting again next week, and switching my milk in my porridge to skimmed milk to cut a few extra calories.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
i am at a loss of what to do.
when i first met my other half (oh) i had been dieting - to loose baby weight - and had got down to 10 stone exactly. That was back in oct 08 , and since then i have put on just over 2 stone. I kept saying to myself i would go on a diet after christmas so that i had 6 months to lose the weight(i want to get to 10.7 before the weeding - so i am at a healthy bmi ) anyway i didnt start till 9 weeks ago.Between then and last sunday( i always weigh in on sundays) i had got from 12 stone 3 lbs, to 11 stone 4.5 lbs.
I still have 9 weeks til the wedding, and i am pretty sure i could get down to the 10.7 by then, the trouble is my dress fitting is next week, and since my dress is a zip and not lace up, i cant really afford to lose too much weight after the fitting. So i dont think i will reach my target weight for my wedding. Do you girls think i should keep dieting after the fitting and risk it? or stop till after the wedding?
Either way by christmas i plan to be in the 9 stone range (preferably about 9 stone 5lbs) and to then hopefully stay their. The trouble is my oh loves his takeouts - how i have managed to lose almost a stone while having so many take outs i dont know.
Congrats to all those who have lost weight, and keep up the good work0 -
MrsDrink. Well done on loosing so much weight in the first place. Maybe you can keep me on the straight and narrow.
Mcewan, I think you need to stop after your fitting, otherwise what's the point of having your dress fitted to you? You run the risk of it hanging off you. I have the same problem with my dress being a zip up too. You have to stay the same, which for me is impossible. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. That's really good.
I'm refusing to be a grown up and look at the damage I've done on the scales this week. I just can't. I've ordered my food for next week and there isn't much junk in there so hopefully I can get h2b to finish or hide what doesn't get eaten this weekend. It doesn't help that he brings home cakes and icecream though. This week he's bought me a strawberry tart (nommy), a banoffee tart (still in the fridge) and a 250ml tub of dime bar crunch ice cream (in the freezer).Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Miracles do happen! I have pigged like mad the last 2 days (mum here, days out etc) but just weighed myself and STS this week. In fact I've even dropped a fe numbers when I've measured myself and my 'tight' jeans are decidedly looser
Am now going to head off happily to the weight loss thread to update and set myself back on track I hope for June. Then I'm off to the gym. Then I will probably undo all the good work with a bacon buttie but hey it's the weekend!0 -
Well done ellay.
I'm up by about 2-3lbs after my bad week, which I guess is to be expected given that I only went to the gym once and zumba once, then totally gave up and just ate. Curses to my stressy work week!!:(
I feel awful though after all the pigging. Not in the guilt way. In the oohhh my tummy really didn't appreciate me doing that to it. Why do I insist on eating junk and being lazy when the healthier stuff makes me feel better?Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I've not weighed this week. And I just had a bacon sandwich for lunch, oops.
Tomorrow is my new starting day.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
