Hi all, hope you're all doing well, and those who aren't aren't beating yourselves up about it (yes codemonkey, I'm talking to you
) We're only human after all. I'm trying to follow the 80:20 rule - be healthy 80% of the time, and 20% of the time anything goes! OK, so sometimes it's more like 60:40, but hey ho...
I have managed to lose 2lb this week!! :j Partly down to losing the fluid retention from last week, but also been making a conscious effort to eat more veg, and ask myself if I'm really hungry or just bored before opening the fridge door. Oh, and drinking a glass of water when I'm peckish then waiting half an hour - if I'm still hungry then I can eat, but often I was just thirsty, as for some reason we find it hard to distinguish hunger from thirst!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Hi White_Sapphire, hope you are well. :0)
Thank you for that advise. I wish I had followed the drinking of water and waiting last night, as I had dinner at 7pm (which is early for me) and then ended up feeling a bit peckish at 11.30. So I thought of the beans in the fridge with a few chips (around 10). Wish I had tried drinking water and thought that I was going to bed shortly. grrr. On the positive, I only had a little Marks and Spencers little flapjack, so that was my only sweet treat yesterday. Will try harder today. :0)
Achy from LBt yesterday so not sure whether to gym again today?
Hope everyone is fine here. :0)

Well this week is just a total write off. I just can't be bothered! Think it's down to the weather or maybe I just needed a break.
Was at the gym on Monday and zumba yesterday so it's not a total loss.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Morning All,
Don't give up hope codemonkey and slowfading (even though I am in the same position as you all). I blame the weather. At least you got your exercise in codemonkey, so well done. I managed to do LBT on Tuesday and am in so much pain, i could not go to my class yesterday and I feel the same today. :0( hate missing a week, as I get back to square one, pain-wise. :0( So i feel pretty bad for missing gym again. Will try my step class tomorrow. :-( Sometimes even the thought of going to the gym kills me. groan.. i want a holiday. :0(Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Well yesterday was a bad day...all the nibbles I'd resisted got the better of me. OK so I'm not eating big bars of chocolate but there's a limit to the number of mini funsize ones I should have and I think I overshot it yesterday! Today and tomorrow I'm off work with my mum staying here...I will definitely over-eat through a mixture of stress and taking her out places where I know we'll end up in tea shops having evil cakes!!0

Oh no ellay... i understand that temptation.. If you do fancy something little though, then its probably better to have some rather than thinking about it all day. (I hate when that happens to me). I tired to resist those evil flapjacks in the office but i had two. As you said, if you are stressed then comfort eating helps (for me anyway). :0( Have so much yet to organise for the wedding (October 1st) that I am getting stressed and thinking more abotu food! aghhhBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Know what you mean about the stress eating. When I bought my dress all the shops were going on about how I'd lose weight before the wedding because of the stress stopping me eating. I had to inform them that I'm in the eating everything in my path when I'm stressed camp. Nothing stops me eating! I even get hungry when I'm ill.
Rups - according to Jillian Michaels you shouldn't exercise when you're sore because it makes it too difficult to spot an injury.
Ellay - can you maybe order healthier options in the cake shops? (i wouldn't though. I'd go for the biggest, chocolatiest cake I could get away with). I don't think a day or two off will hurt.
Slowly fading - join the club.
I give up for this week. I'll try to be healthy but if I need food, I'm having it. Back to it on Monday.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Yes that's a good option codemonkey, esp if you are not feeling upto it. I am not going to worry too much too about what I can eat or not, as it stresses me out and I have more anyway. grr. I am exactly like you codemonkey, in terms of eating when stressed. The comfort in it! :0) when people ask me if i lose my appetite in summer, i say no, because I still get hungry no matter what weather. I was told that brides-to-be do lose weight due to the stress but i don't buy that for me. haha. we will see. Anyway dont our fiances love us for who we are? :0) They better do!!!Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Yep - that's me. Remember 'stressed' = 'desserts' backwards

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: like that'll happen!!!

Big and chocolatey is my style too...I avoid the shops or indulge, no halfway measures

On a positive note I have just come back from the gym. My necks been playing up again the last couple of days - obviously belly dancing and zumba are too much for it - so I took it easier than usual. But I walked 2km on the treadmill and did most of that at an incline so my legs are well worked. Also did a couple of sessions on bike and tackled the bingo wings.
And almost came to blows with a real obnoxious cow but I may post a separate thread on that one!!0
