It makes more sense for me ellay. Sadly I'm a bit of a glutton, so I deal better with starvation than moderation. I can go for a whole day without eating, but give me one crisp and I have to finish the packet, one jaffa cake and I'll eat the box and so on. Snacking during the day normally just doesn't occur to me. It's when I get home when the problems start and even then it's not out of hunger, it's usually boredom and fruit doesn't appeal when I'm bored :rotfl:
The needing to snack thing is a bit of a myth anyway. Yes, it will increase your metabolism slightly, but that small increase is likely to be cancelled out by the snacks.
It's not 3 small meals or diet meals, it's 3 normal sized balanced meals, which should be enough for anyone. It's not so bad. If I want crisps or an orange, it has to be as part of a meal. So I can have a sandwich and an orange, or a sandwich and crisps, but not both, because it wont fit on a plate.
It's all here, if you want a look.

I ran it by my endocrinologist first and he seemed happy enough with it.
Ok, lets make your dinner sound better.
Toad in the hole: Protein and carbs for energy. And it's brown. And erm, potatoes are brown and they're vegetables. So it's a vegetable.
Frozen yoghurt: Yoghurt, so healthier than ice cream and has calcium. Calcium bulds stong bones.
Victoria sponge - eggs for protein, butter for calcium.
You're building muscle and bones. :jEu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
But if your 'diet' isn't suiting your lifestyle you will ultimately fail at it. (Sorry if I'm being a tad too blunt - I spent many years 'dieting' and failing. I am speaking from experience x). It's really important to find a plan that you can stick to. If eating 3 meals a day without any sweets, snacks or seconds is easy and doable for you then so be it. But if you find yourself genuinely hungry or craving things just because they are forbidden then I would say it may not be the right plan for you. At the end of the day it's all about calories in being less than calories out... however you achieve that is individual
I thought craving forbidden things was part of the fun...Hmmm I really should stop watching Gerard Butler.well done on being in the healthy BMI range!! That is the important thing at the end of the day - lol not what we all look like in our dresses
Nahhhh it's all about the dress. After the wedding, when H2B can't run away, all bets are off :rotfl::rotfl:
I really hope I'm not being too brutal and blunt with my advice and support. I'm just speaking from experience... I don't mean to rub anyone up the wrong way - lol I know how hard it is lose weight - especially when you get know it alls telling you how it should be done :rotlf:. I'm just trying to help.
No, I appreciate your advice, even if you do sound a bit like my mum. I'm happy enough with the plan for now. Just need to tell my hormonal body that it doesn't need all the food in the world just because I'm getting my period.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I've just had a look at the no s diet - looks quite good actually so will read up a bit more on it when I'm not supposed to have been in bed ages ago, and will let you know if I decide to give it a bash!

wow lots of interesting tips and guidance! thank you! well done code monkey and everyone else who is doing so well trying to avoid those snacks! i feel slightly ashamed that i gave in yesterday. :0(
I think I need to bring packed lunch from home as buying salads everyday is costing me and I reckon, I m also eating additional stuff that I am not aware of! I desperately need to lose around 5-6kgs this month. I dont know how realistic that is, as my dress fitting is in just over a month's time!! aghhh..
breakfast again is granola with yoghurt, and raspberries and blueberries...
havent even got any lunch today...so hope I get a healthy choice. I will read up on the diet code monkey. well done again. :0)Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I've decided to join Codemonkey on the No S Diet - I like how it doesn't demonise foods and also treats you like an adult by not being overly restrictive. It's sort of an extension to the way I try to eat anyway. I've always been a supporter of 'snacks = faster metabolism', but thinking about it I don't think it leads me to eat any less at mealtimes, which would be the only way that snacking would actually make me lose weight!
Funnily enough, it's H2B's birthday today so this is an S Day! :rotfl: He's requested chocolate cake which I'm off to bake now - I'll have some this evening, but I wonder how much will be left by Saturday.....
STS this week, but that's not too bad given how shamefully I behaved at the weekend! Onwards and upwards! Well, downwards as far as the scales are concernedMarrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

We really do think alike ellay. Problem=go to Mars bar :rotfl:
I am proud to say I've been good again today, despite the fact that I worked til 8 and then when I got home H2B had found his way into the box of chocolates we got for Easter from my parents. Hoping there will still be some left for me at the weekend :cool:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
After spending most of yesterday going for a wee what felt like every 2 minutes, stepped on the scales this morning and I'm almost back to where I was before my crazy eating.
Just munching some golden syrup porridge made with skimmed milk for breakfast. I will go to the gym at lunchtime.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I should go beat myself up right now. I've been very good at work but am now about to tuck into steak and kidney pudding and chips! And it now looks like I won't be going to the gym as I have to take a suitcase over to DS1's gf...I could go after the gym but probably won't!0
