Decluttered a nap after tea and I'm about to get ready to meet DH at the pub for a couple of hours. Not really in the mood for it today, but I'm sure it will be fine.0 -
Just popping in.
I went to a lovely wedding yesterday
Basics done, kids beds changed & bedding washed & dried, bit of re-potting in the garden.
Tomorrow we are teaching DS1 to paint the fence.
Have been struggling today with DS1 being very literal. He has a A-typical aspergers & ADHD, he asked if he could stay out with friends later than arranged, so I said yes but he would have to have a separate dinner to us and clear away afterwards as we would have had ours earlier. He came back and after he had finished eating, I asked him what he had done with his plate, he had left it on the table. I asked him to go and wash it and clear up. Later I found that he had only wash his plate not his cutlery, pans, cup etc. He wants to be a doctor.

We got some from eb@y very reasonable
hello everyone
Had a fantastic day flying. Last time I checked in, DH was vacuuming. He asked if he should do under the bed and I said 'Hmm'
Anyway, we shifted the carp from under the bed, vac'd, changed the bed, turned the mattress, cleaned the blinds (thanks for the glove tip dusty - FANTASTIC) AND cleaned the windows. Every last bit of floordrobe is away, and all manner or carp binned or found a home. The BR looks so nice, I'm thnking of checking in to the Travel Tavern so as not to spoil it:rotfl:
We did a couple of hours in the garden and cooked a nice dins instead of having a takeaway.
Cat no, 1 is heaps better. She hasn't been going on the litter tray every 5 minutes. I got the vet to give her an antibiotic injection so it means we don't have to faff about giving her tablets. it just stresses us out and her.
All in all a good day all round.
DH is off in his lycra first thing, so I'm hoping to get up early and iron. It's crept up on me again, and there is loads to do. What I don't want to end up doing is ironing on Monday night before I go back to work. not looking forward to that anyway with all the redundancies. Not that I am being made redundant, it's just not a nice place right now.
Great news about Megan Froddy
Lamewolf - you'll have a great time I'm sure.
I actually enjoyed the street party, despite dreading it, but I don't want to do it again soon!
I don't really like large social gatherings.....and we've got a 40th to go to next weekend. In fact I don't know what to wear? It's a cheese and kaylee (sp) do. !!!!!!? Do I wear jeans or have to put a frock on?
In fact i have a busy weekend next weekend. In Liverpool on Friday meeting friends and picking a friend up from the airport who is back for another appointment at the hosp about her breast reconstruction. Saturday the 40th party and Sunday the PILs are here for 1 night on their way to Scotland for a holiday.
More housework tomorrow then
I desperatly need to pull the cooker and clean down the sides. I swear there is a sprout there from christmas
Right I'm off to bed a with a new book. I shall bid you all a fond farewell - until tomorrow

What wonderful news... Speedy recovery vibes heading her way.How do you get rid of your bindweed?
No change for OHs dad although he had his eyes open for a while earlier. He kept trying to talk but it was too quiet for us to understand.
I spent the better part of 3 weeks digging the infernal stuff out!!!

With great difficulty seeing as it's been allowed to grow unchecked for a yearHow do you get rid of your bindweed?
Apparently the best option is to let it grow up a bamboo, then drop the length into a jar of roundup. Alternatively, at my local nursery, they let it grow long, shove it in a plastic bag and spray round up into the bag. Either way, it needs to absorb the poison and send it back to the root to kill it. I have to try to kill some japanese anemones too... so need to find my jar of roundup...
If you don't do poisons, then its a question of preventing it growing so that it can't feed the roots, and digging out every bit of root you can. I find ground elder responds well to being cut back (pity the neighbours don't do it too), so I guess I need to get the strimmer out tomorrow and deal with that... hopefully I can fix the mower or borrow one, as there is a lot of ground elder in the lawn (once i've mowed, i'll poison the lawn too, seeing as I'm going to be away for a week).
I don't like having to use chemicals, but occaisionally they are necessary to get things back under control.
I'm off to bed now... hugs, thoughts and prayers are being sent in the appropriate directions.0 -

That's cos she's sent it my way. Stuck in South of France on a Bank holiday sunday and about to spend 4 days in a car. Ouch ouch ouch.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
On a flying note, I'm up and the kitchen is slowly resuming some order. We leave this afternoon so sheets to go on and everything to pack up. Think Oz has worked out we'te off again. He's scarpered.
Then 4 days on the road back to sunny glasgow (is it sunny jackieg? please) I'll be using some of that time to create my toots list. Need to do something in the garden so I can get veg in now the frosts have hopefully passed. Last year it was the middle of May before I could put anything out.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
off to work in a min - hoping to get nappies on the line before I go. The house will no doubt look like an explosion in a toyfactory canteen has happened when I get back.
Roast lamb for dinner - I'll be back at 4 (hopefully!) to get it on.
Have a lovely day flyladies!0 -
