WARNING SOLAR PANELS & some Siemens S2AS-100/ Siemens S1AS-100 Meters

Sorry but that is rubbish! This particular meter can be programmed to display what is required but the total registers always store imported and exported units and this data is actually duplicated in backup registers.
They can be programmed to add the import and export registers together as in the cases in this thread but these two separate internal registers always record and there is no problem in accessing this data - no grey area as you put it, it's not secret and is safely stored in non volatile read only memory.
No wonder the poor customer has problems!
Well im hardly an expert about this particular meter. I know for a fact certain meters will not record anything at all on Total Exp kWh unless it is programmed to. on the flipside I do know certain meters such a Elsters and EDMI meters will record irrespective of the meter programming but as you said wont display unless programmed to do so.
anyway im guessing this meter would need a password of some sort to even get onto it via opti?Working within the gas and electric industry since 2008'0 -
Look on here for the CEO of Ovo Energy - & try emailing him http://www . ceoemail. com/ , as the as MSE is stopping me putting the address in as a link without loads of !!!!!!!0

This thread is specifically about the Siemens S2AS-100/200 metering problems after micro generation installation, so telling us that "certain meters will not record anything at all on Total Exp" is irrelevant. Guessing is unhelpful, so please stick to the facts.
I was please to read today that jkpaul seems to be at long last making progress to get the actual data read off his meter so that his bill can be recalculated accurately.
OVO could have been much more helpful. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Having visited the site now, I have got the e-mail address and will use it if the current round of discussions hits a brick wall.

Ovo have gone to speak to Siemens, let's see whether they can agree to do something half-useful!
As I left the house this morning I saw a MeterPlus car/van arrive. They'd come to read next door's meter (coincidence) so I asked if they'd have a look at the meter & see whether they had an optical reader to access it, but he said no, he just looked at the number & wrote it down!

They won't get paid for the visit and it might cause another customer to lose their appointment.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Sorry, you misunderstood my poorly expressed point!
The guy was reluctant but prepared (while waiting for next door to unlock their gate) to cast his eye over the meter all of 5 yards from where he'd been standing anyway. Unfortunately though when I pointed out the optical communication port on it and asked whether he had a reader which could access it, he glazed over blankly and said, "Er, no, I just read the number & put it into this" pointing has his handheld device much like a DHL "Sign here" machine.

Ah, he was just a meter reader then. You need an engineer who will understand more about your issue.
Given the complexity, the potential lack of real industry process and lack of supplier understanding/willingness, it might be worth the Meter Operator to send out a senior tech or supervisor. Then you can be onsite and speak to them.
When you speak to suppliers, they're office people and they rely on a small number of experienced people who spend years learning. An engineer on the otherhand is a more technical person by nature so you are likely to get a different response from them. It might be an honest opinion of your set up as opposed to a "process driven" discussion with a supplier.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

So in other words, your meter has been over-reading by 5.75kWh/day on average, and should be recording 12.25kWh per day. This means you are exporting on average 54% of your generation, which seems reasonable.
Thanks again to sly_dog_jonah I've now finally got round to using his calculations with some more accurate figures from our system to hone the results further.
As we switched dual-fuel suppliers 3 months into the PV year 1, I wanted to see the total for the 9 months as well as the total for the first quarter and the subsequent half year.
I think the figures I've found have justified my not accepting the offer of 6 units per day from Ovo, especially as it would only have covered the period of their supply - 6 of the 9 months.:rotfl:
Basically under E.ON we were overcharged by an average of 3.440 kWh units of electricity usage per day (88 days).:(
Under Ovo we're still being charged for an extra 7.925 kWh units per day (205 days so far).

I seem to be getting further with my issue at home, but now wonder whether we have the same problem at work!
Does anyone know whether this other meter could have the same issue of adding exported units to imported ones?
Landis & Gyr
Polyphase
Type 5219A
Will update the home situation when I get chance.
Thanks,

Is it a microgen set up?
Poly phase business metering are as standard as all other meters to the industry so were around at deregulation.
They can have a number of registers (up to 50 or so I think) which can include import, export, demand and various others.
I think utility_csa works in the business metering end so I'm sure can help with this if you post more info.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
