I don't understand. Why can't you get a mortgage? Self employed? Low income? Too low multiple for what you want? Deposit is usually the biggest hurdle, so what is stopping you?

I have admitted i currently live in a sh*tty area.

I have said i have worked hard and saved my money so that i will be able to afford to move to a better area (to me its a better area but too many others they would never ever choose to live there)

I have also said i will buy a house in the less sh*tty area and then save more of my earnings to enable me to move to a better area.

When i do buy a house in the less sh*tty area it will probably be at the lower end of the market in that area and hopefully will need lots of work doing to it.

Is there something wrong with working my way up the housing ladder in the hope of me one day living in a nice home in a nice area.

I know what a sockie is because i was accused of being one when i first joined this forum, i presume you think you are not a sockie?

I have also said that you are weird and i am now going to say that i think you have some kind of personality disorder.

Yawn, here we go again. Nice white lady has no house while the immigrants all get rehoused at everyone else's expense with in 4 posts of signing up.

Any more transparent and it'd be used for windows.

Took me years to save for my first house and was working 16hr a day pls weekends toget there, its rubbish at the moment but you need to make a plan and stick to it.
There are morgages to be had for 15% deposit so not sure why you are getting a knock back.

I plan to sell the house in the near future and renting is a real possibility due to the flexibility it offers.

Let's get one thing straight from my perspective, to judge or look down or in anyway prejudice a person on the colour of their skin is abhorrent and disgusting, do you want it any clearer than that Julie?

But what I am sick and tired of is the subject of immigration being ignored because people like you throw around the racist card around. Even many left wing politicians are now concerned at the huge numbers that have entered our country without an expansion in housebuilding.

The place she is renting is just outside the main town, it is a wood stucture that is just a glorfied shed with hardly any room, she has to pay £500 for a crap hole like this.

You should tell her to contact Environmental health if the landlord refuses to do improvements.

there has been expanding in housebuilding. Everywhere you go there are blocks of new build flats. Even in chelsea! The problem is that people dnot want to or cannot afford to pay for them. Im sure the person you know can find a brilliant flat for 500pcm somewhere in the country although im sure she wont be able to have her dogs there.
