Time to metaphorically slap on the glitter, the high heels and the frou-frou and going out and getting what I want in life instead of waiting for it to "magically happen" - face it we are too long in the tooth to waiting around for Price Charming.
MG
Half way, remember - and thing do happen but they manifest in different ways. Remember when I run Bristol Half marathon for the Bristol prostitutes? I ran it for a Charity for which a friend does the accounting. When we were fundraising she send around a letter saying:
'I have been suggesting more aggresive approach to fundraising for a long time but the ladies say 'God, will provide'. 'I said, that he has already provided by sending them a good Jewish accountant'.'
Yep, it is funny but this is how it works - the Universe opens doors, the decision to go through them, to ability to spot them as opprtunities and the stamina, persistence and courage to take advantage of these opportunities is up to us.
What I am saying is, go and get what you want; travel light and travel fast. Have picknics on the way. But keep at it...
MG, think about it: once we know that we can 'pay the mortgage' and there is more money than we need and want, we can do so much good; there are so many people on this planet that given a bit of opportunity can transform their lives and this world.

Thats the point Clootie - we can all feel and look fabulous - but be working on the abundance thing inside.
Its "acting as if" - alignng myself with the Universe , so if I begin to act as if I am abundant then abundance will be attracted to me.

Amd we too needed new pipes near the boiler, which were included, along with the flush of the system.
Hope that helps
Thanks, just want to get this job done correctly, not like the bathroom, where we hired a "friend" who didn't finish the work and left us with a leaky shower and radiator, although he did our roof previously and did an absolutely fantastic job. (hence he is no longer a friend, which is another story)
Anyway I have just opened my emails and have had another quote for £1,250, and someone requesting a site visit, all quotes have come from companies with 100% feedback.
A company is coming out tonight to have a look, so will let you all know the feedback on that laterBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
I don't understand how they can quote without having a look! Especially if you've told them you want it moving....
£1250 eh - what boiler are you getting for that? Sounds VERY cheap!
Where are you finding the "feedback" from? Sounds like a good system... I am interested0 -
My hammer.co.uk. A friend of mine suggested it, you put in the job you want doing then trades people give you quotes, I've had 2 quotes and someone requesting a site visit so far.
I thought that was cheap too, but might call them and ask then to come out to give a propor quote.
Right off to sort out the washing, ds2 was good and sorted his bedroom out so bloke could see boiler, but I have ended up with 5 loads of washing and it is raining
Then I am going to start cleaning upstairs today and work my way down.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Morning Matrix. Dreary kind of a day today. That's the weather and my mood. My "new best friend" is in some kind of foul mood today and so the whole team is suffering. If I am in a bad mood when I come to work, I make sure that no one else feels the brunt of it, because I am a professional. Too bad she isn't.
Got lots of work to do on a demon spreadsheet today. And then it is the supermarket run tonight and home to homemade pizza and a DVD night I think. Tomorrow we are out at a rugby match - the city we are going to is going to PACKED with people as not only the rugby team but the footy team have home games on the same day. Our kick off is not until 3pm... but suspect we will be heading there for about 8am!! Hope my foot holds out and i can walk around town!!We have a normal Sunday planned - Church, home and gardening I think!
If I don't get back before the weekend - have a great one and I shall see you all on the other side.

Morning all - here's hoping for a good (and quick) Friday and lovely weekends ahead!
My tomato plants arrived this morning.. much excitement! :jDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Morning all! Just had a bowl of porridge and local honey for breakfast as noticed that I was a touch hay-fevery last night so I shall start with the local honey again. If it doesn't do any good, at least it tastes delicious!
I have an NIC bill to pay, and some money to juggle around in the banking, so that's the next job. Also some washing to get sorted out. Plants to be watered. Washing up is already done. Then I'll need to get myself sorted out to get out - I'll walk into town I think as I need to do some paying in at the building society and then get the bus to our nearest tube station (7 miles away) as I can then use my Oyster card for the London bit of the travelling. My lunch is made ready to take with me and I fully intend to treat myself to a mocha in Starbucks somewhere along the way this afternoon!
Re the gardening thing - we have spinach, beetroot, kale and turnips (lots of turnips - nice cute little baby ones!) all coming up, as well as some mystery tomato plants.
Claire The quote to go for is the middle one of three you are happy with the providers of. So, see lots, then disregarding price, weed out any companies you wouldn't feel comfortable dealing with the companies that provided and throw them out. Leave yourself with three - check prices and if all things are equal, go for the middle one. MG - glad to hear you're getting your sparkles outI must confess to having a plastic glittery tiara (10p from a charity shop) that I sometimes put on to do the housework when I'm feeling a bit glum
:rotfl: :rotfl:
(just had a phone call from the insurance company that provides breakdown cover. We had a letter from them yesterday, saying the cheapest was £66.95. The lady on the phone rang to say she wanted to see if they could get it cheaper on the phone  Wish I'd had the presence of mind to say 'according to your letter you have already "thoroughly checked the market" and therefore if you think you can get it cheaper now, you were obviously lying")
Unfortunately, I'm just tooooo nice, and instead said 'not right now thank you'...0 -
GM Matrix
I'm fine Bitsy, just been reading and lurking.
Clootie :rotfl:at 'fur coat and nae knickers', haven't heard that in ages - but try visualising 'Fur Coat and FRENCH knickers@.
That should kick it up a notch. Bit more abundant than no knickers.
See how convo goes inadvertantly back to knickers :rotfl:.
Am just plugging away atm, trying to financially get to the end of the month till payday. Still trying to work out what I want, I focus on the small stuff when asking the Universe, and it pays off most of the time.
OH is irritating me at the moment because he wont talk to me, He seems stuck in the groove of going from day to day with no firm plans and taking everything in his stride. This is good, but I never know where I am coming or going.
One good thing though, I persuaded him to get rid of the Freelander,
lovely car, but it was starting to cost silly money to keep it on the road, with repairs, and maintenance. Someone bought it for spares, so thats one thing less to worry about. He reckons I see the worst in everything (I call it being practical). But heyho onwards and upwards.0
