Meant to ask MG did your dad "sing for his supper" last night?? Were the casually draped tools a success in prompting what you needed to be done?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
MG I second that you are an inspiration! (and not fat, I have a picture of you on the back of your book and you look young and fit - neck up though the picture may be.......;))
I don't know whether you've missed me (?) but we've been away as there were many bank holidays here too (Freedom Day) We went to another African country, we met lovely lovely people. They live without electricity and have a tap in their street as their water supply. The women wash their clothes in the river (I did check, it is still 2011...) and transport is donkeys and ponies. The roads are mostly untarmac'ed and the shops are few, with little choice. One lady (who is now my daughter
) said quite angrily that she didn't like the way her country was portrayed as poor......
And I thought of you MG, and all us followersThese people are truly living the simple life. Popeye and I have returned home with a renewed ambition to simplify our lives even more. We're even moving towards vegetarianism..........
Now I'm back, can anyone give me an update of what I've missed?
K4K, I've emailed and await a reply........
And I've read about a wedding0 -

I now have fully screwed together square foot beds - just need to stuff them full of soil - but that can wait
................... took him 50 minutes .

They understand, YES they are still willing to work with you, YES they want YOU to mentor THEM (wow!), YES they want to create a book out of it (what, about you?? What you've taught them?? Hope you're getting royalties
)
What a positive bunch of things :j :j :j
And then I got to the bit where you're all sad...Poor you! You're having a bit of a rotten week with your back, but gosh, don't go being jealous of all those students, for all you know, they're all jealous of you!
Of course they don't look like they've got a care in the world - they're walking down a street with their mates on a sunny day. You don't see many folks sobbing in the street - and I bet you don't see you doing it that often, whatever you feel like. Sorrow and grumpiness are generally more private than that
Everyone's right, you're doing fabulously well (even though it must seem like an uphill struggle sometimes)
Not sure I would want to be the age of those students again.
Then I thought - I wonder if some woman passing by saw DS2 running to hug you and went on her way envying you.0 -
then got the big bad meeting with the big big bosses about our school and my big bad balls up!
Neither the boss or chair of governors get on with the 2 big bad lady bosses we are going to face, I am not officially invited but am going anyway and I think the whole thing is going to be very uncomfortable to say the least. Lots of positive vibes needed please - worst case scenario is they want to close or amalgamate us which would kill the local community and also potentially see me out of a job (too many chiefs etc).
Hope the meeting wasn't too horrendous, Dorastar.

Clairewop and Kittikins - I hope the Universe hears your need for the boiler and the handrail. When you hear about folks wanting this and that luxury item I would like to think there is a hierarchy and these essentials of life would come first. I guess I probably live in cloud-cuckoo-land, though.
MG - there is no should or shouldn't about where anyone is at any stage of their life. My view (for what it's worth) is that each of us is where we are meant to be. Had you had an easier, more straightforward journey to this point you probably wouldn't have developed the survival skills you have; you wouldn't have inspired all of us on here and I'm sure others you come into contact with in the real world; you wouldn't be the girl you are today. Do not look at the present and regret what might have been. Celebrate your journey and respect who you are today.
