Well, I am trying to find a way of "celebrating" the financial news, and keep coming up with idea to spend money... and I don't want to!!
So think I am going to raid my toiletry stash at home and have a nice soapy and sudsy bath tonight!

Just charging in at top speed to say good morning. Sue glad to hear No.1 is - relatively speaking - fine. Just goes to show that things are rarely as bad as they at first appear thankfully.
Crickett Well done you! What a marvellous reward for all your hard work. Now get that positive balance transferred into your ISA as quick as you can! :T
All well and good here - just had a slice of toast positively oozing with butter and my working day is going well. I have spent my morning so far typing Local Authority Land Charge Searches. Morning all.
Thanks Lara - I'll keep an eye open for Mr Firewalker see if I can join the business side, would be good to have people in a similar situation to chat to.
Nothing done last night as at the boss's retirement do, didn't get home until 10pm and then it was just a shower and bed (so I suppose something done as I didn't put off washing my hair until the morning as usual, making me late). I work well with lists, but I can get daunted by the ammount of things to do, so I'm going to post 5 things on my MSE diary every day, with a list that small it's less scary where to start and I should be able to make more progress.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Dinah I love lists too and regularly use my diary to keep a tally of stuff to do! I really find starting the day with a long list of "must do" stuff and returning regularly to cross things off is excellent motivation!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Wow, there’s some much happening I don’t know where to start!....so…
Susan – glad to hear GS1 is ok.
Hope your conversation with the mentors goes well MG, and also your conversation with the big bosses Dorastar, and I love the idea of the pretty toes.
Well done Crickett, great news and great rewards, and also Redsquirrel.
You’re busy too Claire, you seem to have achieved so much over the last few days!
Not much to report here. I’ve been reading The Secret, have filled out my cheque and have created my vision board. It’s all good stuff and fulfils the creative side of me
When I was coming into work this morning, a lottery ticket blew past me, so I thought, well, the Universe doesn’t tell you the ‘how’ so best pick it up and check it…you never know…anyway, this ticket wasn’t from the Universe, so it’s now recycled rather that littering the pavements!
I need to have a think about what I want to do this evening, aside from the usual domestics, so that I keep things moving forward, so I’ll be back later with a list.

So glad the baby is fine, good old "viruses" eh?!? What a relief for you all.
I need the Universe to provide me with £270 so I can have a handrail installed outside my front door so that I will never again be scared to go down the steps when in pain and OH can get in the house easier tooGoing to write a cheque and start thinking creatively.

Quieter than usual on here this morning? Everyone must be busy doing motivated stuff and keeping off their 'puters!
Right then, I need some ideas & inspiration. Myself & MrEH are off out tomorrow evening. We have been given a voucher for John Torode's restaurant - Smiths of Smithfield - from some lovely friends, and we're off for a meal there. (We're VERY excited about this - of all of "those types" of restaurants this would very prbably have been the one we would have chosen for ourselves!) As a result I have the opportunity to spend tomorrow afternoon wandering around London with my camera. As a born & bred Londoner I am struggling with ideas for what I might actually photograph this time. I've done various shoots around London before but usually at night - this time that's out of the question. The weather forecast suggests that tomorrow will be a "sunshine & Cloud" sort of day. I will have a travelcard so can go anywhere within the central zone easily enough. At some stage the London Eye will creep into proceedings as I can't drag myself away from photographing the wretched thing - it's a fascination with me.So - regardless of where you are from - what would YOU like me to go and photograph tomorrow? Whatever I do of the back of any ideas I get I will either post up here, or will post on my blog (which is linked as my homepage from my profile here) so it can be seen.

:eek: MG Mid Life Crisis coming - those of a nervous disposition should move away from the monitor NOW!!!!!!:eek:
Got the kids to St A and got parked up at the beach end of the street with my notes to talk to one of the friendly Mentors (Yup!!! the one with the sexy French Accent ............................ and a cute Boyfriend:mad:)
Discovered that sitting in the car is the most comfortable I have been all week - although the getting in and out is a little ropey.:o
Spilled my guts - everything out, cards on the table, choose your metaphor!! Bless him, he sat and took the "you guys don't understand" whine ................. and he agreed with me - they don't.
So moving forward will be driven forward and a pace "slightly faster" than I am comfortable with (otherwise forward momentum would stop) - but at any time I can call a "time out" and take a breather should life just get too much.
What they would like in exchange is for me to mentor them in the issues of being a woman in business - with a view to creating success and creating a book out of it in the end that can help and inpsire others.
The long and short is that they are still very keen to work with me - and this is just a hiccup that we will look back on and laugh at one day (Secretly very glad they didn't go back to the other guy from last year)
So I am sitting in the middle of the universty town after this hour or so - sipping a cup of coffee from my flask (MSE Rools) and I'm watching all these students meander past.
The seem like they don't have a care in the world - just starting off in life, a whole exciting future to look forward too................ and it made me really sad. I'm in my 40's. I should be at the peak of my earning potential, I should be reaping the reward for all my hard work and instead I am sitting in a dodgy old banger, drinking coffee from a flask and not knowing what to do next.
I should, I should, I should - bah!!!!!!
Feeling old, fat, sore and tired. Typical Mid-life blah!!!!
So time to dust myself off and prove to myself that I can rise again from nearly being wiped out by the Big Horse Bank.
Felt better when I got a huge hig from DS2 when I collected him though
Off to vote now - if you don't vote I think you get the Government you deserve!!!

First of all my dear... have a hug. :grouphug: Sounds like you need one.
And now, for the bracing bit. Don't talk such rot.
You have 2 boys you have brought into this world and you are raising them right, and educating them well too. You have inspired and motivated lots of people, you are creating a life for your little family and you have won lots of help and assistance from some kickass mentors. MG, darling, you totally rock.
We all feel old, fat, sore and tired. In fact, I do almost every day. :rotfl:
Oh, and most of the students will have debts, exams and job applications to be worrying about. They just do a good job of hiding it.
Hope that helps.
EH, how about the House of Parliament? Depending on the results from the referendum it could be quite lively round there!
Can I ask for some advice please? As there is an impending birth in our team, I am trying to work out what I want to happen. I kind of want to take over the bits the cowbag does at the moment. But I am also aware that will be TONNES of work and it might effect the good relationship I have with my current budget managers. Effectively, I will be doing the work of two people. But then again, it will be a great challenge and will definitely spark my interesti in my work again. Having said that, getting someone in to do her job for the maternity period is not really an option either, as it will take MONTHS to train them!! I don't want to send confusing signals to the Universe. What do you think I should ask for?
