  • Fantasia - I am hoping that you managed some sleep and are now at work. Matrix - what a fantastic group of ladies and loads of sound practical advice.

I would like to emphasise what FW advised. If you have joint accounts, you need to open up a seperate account asap, in a different bank and keep your funds there. The reason I say this is I have been where you are now, I went to speak to the bank for advice (stupid and naive of me) and they froze our accounts leaving me with no money and a 6 & 3 year old. Even if oh wants an amicable split, you would be wise to create a little bit of distance to secure your financial position.

Baby steps, my lovely and remember we are all here, Thriftyxxx

    Hi Ladies,

At last have a moment and feel ready to catch up with you guys. Have started to read the most recent thread but only on p40 so thought I would post and say how much of an inspiration you guys continue to be. :j

I think the last time I posted was the time I was making a decision about a promotion at work. Well that's what has kept me away for the first 6 mnths of the year really. I got offered the job and love it too bits. I have begun to develop lots of new skills relating to management issues and have started to develop a really good team. It has kept me so busy because two of the snr team resigned just as I got the job, probably for the best as they werent working in a way which would have supported the team development. It has just meant dealing with the new job as well doing additional work that cant be delegated.

Come the first of Sept though the new team will be in place and it will make my job even more enjoyable and these are people I have been able to interview and choose so seem to have the same ethos!

Also means I will have more time to catch up with you guys.

    Best Wishes All.

Was away yesterday so missed most of what was happening.

Fantasia so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I can only echo what everyone has said and if there is anything I can do just shout. Take care of yourself and Leyla. Hugs xx

(((((((((((fantasia)))))))))))) can't imagine what you must be going through right now. Deep breaths, one foot in front of the other, and you *will* come out of the other side - you don't have to be able to imagine what it will look like. Do the practical stuff that needs doing first (accommodation etc), take all offers of help (go through this thread and write them down if you can't remember them!), talk to whoever you need to (and yes, that includes the Samaritans if there isn't anyone else - that's what they're there for). Thinking of you xxx

Apolgies about my insensitive post earlier. Have now read back a little and have an idea of what's going on.
I have just got back in touch with an old school friend who is in a similar position and we are enjoying catching up!
I guess what I'm trying to say is get your friends around you, old, new and forgotten and accept their support.
    Take Care

Just getting myself organised about closing this thread an starting the next bright and early tomorrow morning................... will need to look back and see if I can find Fantasia's post with a new name suggestion. Does anyone remember?

A few of the Mentors have come on board and I am now in proud possession of 30 days worth of decluttering challenges. Obviously I will publish those over in the matrix - one a day kind of thingie - so keep an eye open from tomorrow............... although knowing us the chat will spill over here too:D so no-one needs to feel left out, its just that our Mentors will only publish on the private forum, not this public one IYSWIM?

BTW - new recipe project on my blog following our "Adventures with lentils" called "Our Daily Bread" - all the fab bread recipes we have cooked over the last couple of years. First one is up now - Ciabatta - I well remember the hilarity we had with this "runny dough"

I know we talked about curry's - but the weather is still a wee bit warm so I am stacking those up for a project when it gets a bit colder. Also AP order has got a 25kg bag of chapatti flour so it will be Indian dishes a go-go here soon. I am STUNNED at how cheap curry's are to cook when you don't always have meat/chicken/ fish in them - the veggie curry's are fabulous, low fat, mega low cost and mostly Syn Free on the SW plan.

Made a pressure cooker pot of Natal Red Kidney Bean curry for a mates house-warming - about 40 portions and it cost me a little over £2 for the lot - serious, serious MSE.

Off to read the bedtime stories

Thanks MG. Lookig forward to the new thread (can you put a link on here as the final post perhaps?) Fantasia suggested The Matrix - Evolution if I remember rightly.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Just popping out of Lurkdom to say I'd like to join in with the August decluttering if I may please?

Its been over 18 months since OH moved out and I really need to declutter in a big way!!
I'd like to send ((()))s to Fantasia, the first few weeks are not easy, it's hard to know what to do for the best, but you have lots of friends here to help. I love the way that all you Matrixettes pull together when one is in need:A. (On that note, you are not so far away from me and I have some kid's room furniture I'm soon to declutter from the garage if you're interested?).

Ok, I'll be dropping back to lurking status now, but will hopefully join you on the new thread. :) Here's to our clutter-free homes!

Welcome aboard Mrs B - just before we all jump ship if that is not mixing my metaphors.

Love your "Location" - I've just started writing little stories for DS2 about a naughty fairy called, well....................

"Senga's a wee Scots Fairy who lives with Granny Broon
On a bonny little fruit farm about a mile ootside the toon.
But oor Senga is a rascal - a really naughty lassie
Always getting up to mischief, always getting rather messy"

................. you get the idea :rotfl:

In my head she is a red-headed wee girl with bunches and freckles (like DS2), she wears a fairisle jumper, a kilty skirt and red welly boots. Her wings are leaves rather than proper wings because she hasn't earned them yet................ her adventures will be with DS2 around the farm and countryside.

None of my doodles look quite like her - YET!!!! I will know her when I meet her :D

In the meantime - off to do some serious work for an hour r so.
