    Hi Dusty :D nice to see you here... I think you'll like it.

    Claire - the memory box for Jack is a great idea.

    Crickett - so pleased you're feeling so positive, and MG is right about the fact that you do know what good feels like, so you know what you're looking for now.

    TMIF... Ouch :(

    Feeling very overwhelmed by life at the moment... Still have two presentations that were due today and aren't done; have paperwork to do for an urgent client meeting tomorrow; house is a tip due to electrician and I can't quite work out how I can sort it out. Could have done without a governors meeting tonight, but it was good to get out... Sadly it was physically demanding and my body has rebelled... I've got a phone call booked with my GP on Friday to discuss it. However, I'm in the office all day tomorrow for meetings which will be a strain. Need to sort out food/meal plans/shopping asap.

    Anyway, I'm going to make the most of the insomnia and see how I get on with the backlog of work. I need to try to find a positive outcome somehow!

    Hi all,

    Welcome Dustykitten. You'll love it on here!

    Crickett, very interesting stuff. Why on earth would you not believe that you are worth looking after?! I am the Queen of Me time. I love:
    Bath nights with candles, wine, a magazine and relaxing music
    Cooking a lovely meal for myself, setting the table and sitting down to it with some nice music on
    Sitting with the lights off and the candles on whilst enjoying the tv
    Maintenance nights - toenails, eyebrows and AOB
    I have 2 subscriptions to womens mags which I save and read them when I have the time to savour them
    Reading a book in the afternoon, snoozing and waking up in time for dinner
    I often buy myself flowers too!

    Hope this helps Crickett.

    Worked til 8.30 tonight and alas the sale is still not ready to rock so back in early tomorrow to get it done. Wont take long when I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed! Only happens twice a year and it took me ages to get going tonight as it's the first time I've ran a big sale and I wasn't too sure what should go where. Looks good now and expect to be very busy tomorrow. Ate well today and feeling good, but tired so off to bed now. X

    Evening all

    ~~~vibes for you cloud atlasA~~~~~~~~~~ I took a a few of leaves of absence from my phd - several months because my partner was ill, then another few months because I'd managed to get myself ill in that time too :o Take the time if you need it, and good luck with your business!
    ((((((((tmif))))))))) kidney infections are painful! I couldn't stand up when I had one - take time off if you need it!
    Welcome dusty kitten :T
    Lots of lovely ideas for nurturing yourself on here today! :T :T :T :T If I get an evening to myself I often spend an hour running round and having a tidy up, changing the sheets, cleaning the bathroom, running the hoover round (sounds counter intuitive for nurturing, but I'm not generally houseproud, yet I love it when everywhere's a bit clean :p). Then I'll maybe get out in the garden for an hour, or go for a run, then have a nice hot bath, and read and read and lounge around, then get all curled up with a book on the sofa, or have an early night.
    My all time favourite nurturing thing to do is to go to bed while it's still light :rotfl: :rotfl:
    I've had a LOVELY evening today doing something off my 18 month plan list :T :T What fun! :T
    I'll have a root around in the cupboard/fridge and see what we have, it won't be much as we don't have much space (two shelves in the kitchen cupboards are ours!).
    A few of us do Willow - but be warned if you think we are full on here - well our blogs are where we really get to kick off.:D
    Check out MG, FW, Cheery Daff, crickett1234 - in fact ladies, in the spirit of planning in advance.......................
    Any Matrixettes who want to own up to having a blog PM me a short paragraph and I will collect them for the launch of the new thread. Easy to do if your blog is set as your homepage on here - in fact we should probably have a thread on the Matrix where we can list them too.
    So off the top of my head, and on only my second cup of coffee:
    "MG's believes that as women we overestimate what we can do in three months and underestimate what we can do in a year, that we continually set ourselves up for disappointment by trying "to do it all" aiming to "have it all"
    Her blog is a resource of articles, practical exercises,musings and easy to implement resources slowly guiding you through a year of improving your life incrementally in the following areas:
    Finances
    Family
    Attitude
    Career
    Personal Development
    Health
    Social Life"
    How does that sound?
    I would like to announce a very significant feat has been accomplished this morning. I walked up all 9 flights of stairs to my office. 204 steps. It hurt and my lungs felt like exploding... but I did it! :) Yay me!! I have been attempting this feat about once a month for 2 years and getting dispirited because I couldn't walk up all the way. I was letting my negative thoughts defeat me. Well, this morning, I did it. Not all in one go, and I had to stop and wait at various intervals, but i did it. :D:D:D:D I am rather proud of myself.
    I also have a nice new haircut from last night, and decided this morning to wear make up to work for the first time in oooh, about 3 months. I am little rusty in the application of it... but several people have commented. Including one lady who said "Oooh... you're wearing lippy... either you haven't for a while, so I haven't noticed, or you are on the pull!" LOL! I replied "Either... or both" to which she looked a little shocked and then giggled quietly. :D I like shocking my colleagues!
    I have a desk day today, so I am going to really get my head down and batter through as much as I possibly can. I have a massive to do list, and year end coming up, so I need to get myself organised. First, Breakfast.
    Oh, did I tell you guys that I have my nutritional guidelines through already?! I read them about five times last night, made up a menu and a honking great shopping list and I have requested that Mr Tesco man delivers it to my door tonight! There is nothing that really surprised me, except she wants me to try and eat 8 portions of fruit and veg per day. I can usually get 5 without too much problem, but 8?! Oh well... I am going to have a go. And the best bit? She told me what a portion actually is... which makes such a difference!! Oh, and i need to eat oily fish... which is not so great in our house, because I can tolerate it, but hubby hates it. So, I have decided to make fish pate's and mousses and things and bring them to work. I might stink out the office, but never mind!! :) And the Nutritionist likes my idea of breakfast trifle, which is nice! :D
    Today is going to be a good day. I can feel it!
    That sounds good Crickett... what is a portion? I was told it was a handful... but I have my doubts!
    I have to drink 2 litres of water and a carton of cranberry juice today..! So I think I might ask for a laptop and decamp to the loo...
    I've had 3 tablets so far. Should I be starting to feel better yet? I am at work doing payroll forecast today. Big yawn. If it gets much hotter I will have to give in today though, because I am already aching all over and feeling grumpy!
    Sorry, I am ever so whingey.. I just can't wait for the weekend, so I can have 2 days lazing about :D I fell asleep on the sofa last night, at half 7....!
