Thanks for the welcome Crickett and Robsmum.

No worries about the pace of the thread, I've spent a lot of time on the Flylady thread over the years but feel now is the time for some different emphasis.

I've eaten a frog with the help of 2 of the boys and cleared the last pile of toys to sort in the living room. Need to clean a few now to put away or sell. Planning on doing a car boot sale at some time over the summer as we have so much sorted to go.

    :rotfl::rotfl:Like she's always been here :rotfl::rotfl:

Just ended the boys day on a high - fajitas for dinner as an avocado we have been ripening for a week is ready.

I am now out of Tortilla wraps - so keep an eye on AF for me ladies. From here on in it is back to my rolling pin :D

Evening all! Just bobbing in to say hello and try and catch up on what you've all been up to!

Claire - so sorry to hear about your doggy, I can completely sympathise as our much loved family dog left us 2 years ago and we still miss him (My parents have now got an even more bonkers dog who we are all soft on as well!)

Crickett - I just wanted to say how impressed I am with how you're getting on. I've been lucky enough to never have suffered from depression but both parents and some very close friends have so I know how awful it is - hopefully they will be able to be as kick**** about it as you are some day!:j

And everyone else, hope you're all well and dandy!

I have a little cheeky favour to ask - I know I am a newbie but I am a great believer in what wonderful women can do when they put their heads together so I was wondering if i could have some positive vibes please? I am in the middle of a funny time, have realised that rubbish health at the mo + phd = even more poorly health and getting more and more behind with Phd so I have finally asked my supervisor today if I can have a medical suspension. It's all a bit scary but I think is the right decision for now but the only problem is that my studentship (i.e. only source of income at the mo) will get suspended as well so just need to work out what I'm going to live on for the next few months!

I have a little idea for a business that hopefully won't exhaust me too much (don't want to make myself even more poorly in the time off as that would defeat the point a bit!:rotfl:) but just need some positive thoughts to think that the horrible bits of now will pass and some good will come of it!

Anyway, sorry for ramble - I am going to sit down with some knitting and a cuppa and have a little think. Enjoy your evenings ladies!x

No problems cloudatlas... you have my positive vibes. If you need some help with the business too, let us know. We have some expertise at start ups too.

Late catch up from me. Been out ALL day, after school run headed round to my mums to finish off DD's birthday cake (pics are on my homepage if anyone is [STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE] interested).

Then I headed off to the last Forest Schools :( They don't really do it in Year 1 so it really will be his last proper visit. They had a fire (supervised of course) and toasted marshmallows and popped popcorn :D It was fab :T albeit a tiny bit sad :o
So I've been on my feet all day, not heading off to tap as I am shattered so catching up on some internet time instead. Treating myself to a wee shandy as a midweek treat ;) And some spongecake and custard.....rib sticking stuff :D

Crickett - Woo hoo on feeling normal. Some lovely ideas for "nurturing" although anything that mentally makes you feel good/better/happy I would say falls under that bracket.

TMIF - I had kidney infection when I was in my 20's. Had to beg my boss to go home so I ended up bursting into tears in his office :rotfl: Boy that WAS painful so hope you feel better soon. Are you sure you can't have a day off work? Only one? xxx

Dustykitten - Welcome to the thread :D

Cloudatlas - Lots of positive vibes coming your way xxx

Have a pleasant evening everyone :D

It's not about being proud it's about a means to an end xxx

  • What Bitsy said :D. A sensible move Willow - you are not the first and certainly won't be the last in this climate.

Next steps - learn all the ins and outs of JSA, what can you do, what can't you do, what do you need to inform the job centre of, what support services are available in your area, so on and so forth. If you have all this knowledge at your fingertips you will be able to counter all the nay-sayers and know-it-alls calmly and confidently (of course you are still allowed a mental !!!!!! when necessary :D).

Sorry to hear this is ds's last forest school Bitsy (((hugs)))
  • OOOOOOhhh!!!!!!:j:j

Let us know when its going to happen!!! I hope they love your house and want to move asap:)

Thanks MG, will keep you informed. I went for another peep at the place I would like to move to, inbetween home visits today. It has really whetted my appetite for change!

No viewings for 5 weeks and two come along - there's another one tomorrow night! I'm wrecked from all the navvying with the bark chippings - but the garden looks fantastic. And a very kind friend saw to my planters at the front door - so fingers crossed this all pays off!

I'm just going to have a bite to eat then drop myself in a long hot luxurious bath. So pleased the boys had another great day in the park, these warm summer days make such a difference and kids love the alfresco life.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
