Yummy! What a great presentation that will be, I'm hungry just thinking about it.......better have some healthy brekkie!
Right, today is going to be a good day I've decided. Work is threatening to p mee off yet again, my finances are scary, OH feels a bit distant which will undoubtedly mean he's feeling poorly, so I'm going to let all of that slip off me like water off a duck's back and do what feels good for me today
So today will be work, volunteering for the penultimate time with current class of gorgeous kids, starting some decluttering around the houseas I've asked a friend to come and help me, but similar to people who have a cleaner, I want to do the first round myself before she comes lol, and most importantly, AVOID SPENDING ANY MONEY (unless its on a birthday present for a friend whose party I'm going to on Saturday....).0 -
Helloooooooo!
I sometimes hoard candles for "best", does anyone else do that?

So your friend is helping before she's even got their then kittikins... Bet you wouldn't get round to it without the incentive of her turning up! Good luck.
The state of the house is depressing me... Having blitzes downstairs before going on holiday, I haven't had a chance to out everything away since I got back (unpacked, did laundry, did gardening, went to stay at my brother's to granny-sit my mum who was babysitting), and the electrician who I expected to have finished yesterday is clearly still in residence - so the contents of the airing cupboard are in the spare room and my bedroom, his stuff is in the spare room, on the landing and in the study, and the bathroom is filthy and not yet finished so unusablethere is nothing I can do until he's finished and with work as busy as it is I don't know when I'll have time to sort it out.

Just dashing through, but wanted to say ((((((((clare)))))))))
and Gemmzie - for my birthday last year someone bought me one of those electric griddle pancake makers. I was a little bemused (being a low tech kind of girl) but after using it once, I swear we ate pancakes for at least one meal a day, and at weekends the maker would get left out on the side, and we'd have pancakes with melon/strawberries/banana/apple/yorgurt/museli/honey/jam/peanut butter or whatever for breakfast, pancakes with egg/cheese/salad/jam/whatever for lunch, and yep, pancakes with curry/chilli/cheese/mushrooms/veggies or whatever for tea:rotfl: :rotfl: Perfectly balanced diet

Good morning
I got up this morning, no dog hair tumble weed, no throws or cushions over the floor, no rubbish over the kitchen floor and the bath mat in the bathroom is still clean ( if he needed to loo in the night he would use the bath mat in the bathroom)
I don't have to put the hoover over either, all I have done is emptied dishwasher and put last nights dishes in and turned it on and wiped the units clean.
Although there is a lot less work to do I'd still rather the dog IYSWIM. I have the cat sat on the settee with me having a cuddle.
I have to meet mum at 10.30 today to do shopping, and Jayne from the market is leaving today so I want to go up there.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Yuck. Drs today - think I have a UTI/kidney infection. I'm in agony! Hope to return here in an hour with sicknote and antibiotics in hand. I've already been off 2 days this week. Bad me.
See you later all - let's go fight the NHS!
Let's hope I can pee on demand - shouldn't think it'll be an issue. I've been awake an hour and managed 3 so far!0 -
Morning Matrix.
Have a day at work full of meetings. Not looking forward to them really as would prefer to be pretty much anywhere else, other than here. But, work is a necessary evil at the moment...
Had a good and productive meeting with the nutritionist last night. We had to change the time of the appointment because she had some childcare issues earlier in the day, but I was okay with that, and she was really grateful. It was such an interesting meeting. She asked lots of questions, wanted to know about all kinds of things and I think in 1 hour and 45 minutes she talked about food for about 20 minutes. Very interesting.
There were two things which came out of the conversation. One was that I need to nurture myself some more. Makes sense I suppose... but I have not got a clue what to do! As far as I am concerned, my job is to nurture everyone else. How on earth do I nurture myself?!! Any ideas, gratefully received; and cheap ones especially helpful!!
The other was in response to a question. Basically I was explaining how I felt lonely and on the outside of things looking in. And when she asked me more about this, I answered her by telling her everything that happened to me as a child. She said at the end of my talking. "Interesting. You answered a present tense question with a past tense answer." Blimey. She was right. So now, I am trying to work out how to move away from what happened when I was a child.
I am to expect an electronic communication from the nutritionist and she is also going to put her report and recommendations in the post to me. I am looking forward to what she suggests.
Right... off to my first meeting. Positivity for everyone today.
