I have an old weightwatchers indian cookbook - loads of lowfat curries and breads in there. I wonder if you could get a copy from Amazon or Green Metropolis?

MG, thank YOU for the recipes. Had the fork salad today and it was amazing. Let me stick to the diet and not buy carp while travelling. Long old day at a work meeting but home now and in my PJ's. Thinking about a Greek recipe with pancakey/crepey things Gemzie. Also had them in Ukraine, with black cherries. YUM. MG I vote for Indian stuff too and Cheri too shattered tonight but yoghurt with lamb sounds right up my street!

Hope you're feeling okay tonight Claire, hugs.

Great news re DS1 MG and give me a shout if you're through my way in the hols. Its always nice to meet lovely, well mannered children. Some of the little !!!!!!s who come into the shop are another matter!!!!

Sounds much more organised than my handwritten spiral notebook written by Gita - although every curry stain holds a memory.

Helloooooooo! I have the candles on tonight, haven't lit them fer months. Found an unused one so I thought I'd use it. I sometimes hoard candles for "best", does anyone else do that?

Yes and I get nagged about it. Constantly.

Thing is, only I will see them since they're in my room! I feel like I need more candles now but there's no point if I'm moving out in a few months xD

  • I've been alerted to a possible house viewing tomorrow or Thursday, so I've been in the garden after work tonight, emptying the last of 21 sacks of bark chippings onto the flowerbeds. All the beds bar one already had weed suppressant membrane, the last bed 6 metres by 1.5 metres has now got its underblanket on and bark chips on top. I think I'll sleepwell tonight! I'm 2 sacks short, so will get that done before work tomorrow - luckily the plant nursery opens at 8.00am, and is 2 mins away by car. I should still get to work by 9.00am, if I get a wiggle on. Just a wee bit tidying to do inside, after work tomorrow, and I will be ready.

Claire, your talk of hoovering up Jack's hairs today brought back a vivid memory. I was lucky enough to have the most beautiful, gorgeous canine soulmate, a Hungarian Vizsla trained to be my Hearing Dog. We weren't just friends, we were a single unit - we worked so well together, I adored her and she adored me, and she went everywhere with me in the back of my car. My clients loved her too and she was a great ice breaker.

We had 7 brilliant years together and some great adventures - she flew down to London and back, sitting on the floor of the cabin beside me, and the captain came to meet her - he hadn't had a Hearing Dog on board before. She did trains and buses, and even a punt on the Cherwell with total aplomb and poise (unlike the humans!!)

Some months after she died, I gave my car a real clean out, and in the back under the lid to the floor, were piles and drifts of her short golden auburn hairs which had fallen down through the cracks. Oh, what a pang that gave me. What a joy she was!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Just to entertain you, in a fit of boredom with writing presentations, I have illustrated a presentation on communicating risks and benefits entirely with pictures of cake :) now I just need to sort out the text and notes ...
