Ah good on you Crickett, yep you feel crap but you're taking positive steps to dealing with it. Also had a thought re excercise, where I am theres a govt run initiative for people who are wanting to get fit and who have been referred by their doctor. They then get a kick start course at the council gym and free or very cheap rates for gym, swimming etc. I know your Dr is vile but would it be worth looking at your council gyms website to see if such a thing is offered and then getting him to refer you? That way you would save some cash and get a good start under your belt? Just an idea and hope I dont offend you with it. My council gym is great and close but not cheap so Im just assuming yours is the same! They might not have this scheme there but if they do it might be a way to get you some exercise to help you achieve your goals and lift your mood. X

Hi I am a constant lurker and a very irregular poster! I just wanted to add something to this idea.

I was recommended this course of action to help me once I was rediagnosed with depression and anxiety. On paper it's a great idea, a referral from your doctor to a local gym. Unfortunately for a girl who works full time, sometimes away and on the road a few days a week I wasn't able to fulfill the commitment requirements. Now I totally understand that this is most likely going to be completely different in different parts of the country but I was very disappointed that my local gym couldn't offer sufficient late appointments and by the time I was able to book a late after-work appointment I had to try and be re-referred by my doctor!! So it seems that yet again, I am unable to attend or utilise certain worthy courses or events due to working full time. Grrrrrr!

I have successfully conquered my depression demons through some excellent counselling so i thoroughly recommend that route, it's just the anxiety that needs to go next. I am taking medication for the anxiety and coping extremely well these days.

Oops nearly forgot to mention, I was told a little while ago that your doctor (and I understand how awful he/she was) can supply vouchers to certain nationally recognised weightloss clubs (SW/WW) so I don't know if you are interested in that or you are quite happy doing it your way, but I'm sure it's still available. My pal used this option a little while ago.

Crickett1234, I am behind you all the way and you can do it girl! You are so doing the right thing!

Take care, good luck and keep smiling!

Thanks for the idea Souk. I actually belong to a private gym and pool complex, and i go as often as my energy levels allow me to. At the moment, because I have been feeling so pants, I have not gone as often as I would have liked. Plus... the council pools are a little bit... yucky. Not very well maintained. So, I prefer to pay for the nice environment. Silly, I suppose, but I think it is worth it. And when I have energy then I also have my Sports Active and Wii Fit Plus stuff too. I just need that energy back.

Thank you for the compliments about the blog. I am ridiculously excited about it!! :D

Okay then, maybe I should've kept on reading the following posts instead of sticking my oar in!!

Sorry - ignore my previous post. i was just a tad too hasty!!!

I can't do multi quotes! I am too daft!

It's taken so long because the company went into administration.

They have to rank debts according to a strict legal framework.

Their fees are first obviously, then staff holiday pay, then HMRC etc... every thing else is listed, and outstanding notice pay, unpaid invoices, etc etc are left.

I got about £300 from the government as redundancy pay almost immediately, (which ironically prevented me claiming benefits, so little point in that) then I got some holiday pay 18 months later.

The administrator must be getting ready to close the case, because they are starting to pay out unprotected debt... administration takes ages though, and they've claimed £800k worth of fees!

It's a shame really - it's the only job I've ever had that I have actually enjoyed. I cried the day I found out what they were planning (about 3 days before they appointed the administrator) because I loved working there so much...!

Still, I will enjoy spending it, but must be sensible x
