Right ladies... been to my Occupational Health appointment. The lady was very nice and very knowledgable. She mentioned my weight (a lot) which annoyed me a little, but she suggested I see a Nutritionist, rather than a Dietician. I was thinking about this as I walked back to the office and I think I am going to look at this, see if I can go privately and keep my GP out of it. She has also referred me to a Counsellor. I need to decide which one I want to see. So, my lunch time is going to be researching nutritionists and reading the leaflet about Counsellors.

That was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Phew.

    Well done Crickett :D

I was thinking of introducing a friend to the other side who just happens to be a nutrionist... I will get onto it when I am home. Make sure you find one with proper qualifications. There are a few out there who have qualifications from institutions that they have set up themselves...

Eating the right things can really help with combatting stress, and supplements are only a short term option although they can be helpful when you're taking medication (I've been told to take probiotics). I pay about £35-40 a session, just to give you a guideline, although an initial assessment may be more. If you have health insurance from work some of them have discretionary funds you can use to pay for this kind of thing, or in some cases you employer may fund it direct, but I'm sure occupational health will have tken you through the options.

I am training to be a counsellor, almost finished the degree course - to ensure the counsellor you have is good, make sure they are BACP or UKCP accredited. This means they have have a certain amount of training, and also have CPD (continuous personal development).

The BACP website also have a lot of information about seeking a therapist/counsellor, and the standards they must adhere to.

Hello all! Hope everyone's okay and being positive :D I dropped my CV off at a shop yesterday and was also told of a job on the sweet stall of the local market then my Dad rang to offer me a job of looking after his animals for £20 a day. I will NEVER do this even if it's the last job on earth as I'd be working with my step-mum and I would drown her in the duck pond on the first day....

Lots of fab ideas there Cheery, just need to stop sulking and get to it with a positive attitude. Lol at the castle, could be a bit of a swim, I'm a Scottish exile - still if there was a wedding to get to.... :D

Glad to hear the appt went okay Crickett. Just to echo what greenbee said, remember anyone can call themselves a nutritionist so check out their credentials and training.

Eta: £20 a day is not to be sneezed at Willow. How long is it for? 1 week JSA £67 - ish; 1 week caring for animals £140. The maths is speaking to you.

Just think of this as developing your people management skills because believe me there will be many, many @$$holes that you will have to work with and for, the workplace is overflowing with them.

    I've found another castle... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caerlaverock_Castle

Alternatively, do you think they'd let me use Edinburgh Castle?

Yup, there's also my step mum speaking to me. I cannot stand her, it's everything about her including the whiny voice.
