Now I'm looking at jobs in Stoke on Trent as that's where my mum works so I can get a lift there. I've seen jobs I could apply for then I read them and I'd be finishing at 9pm most nights and I don't feel safe getting a bus on my own back to Stafford at this time of night. I've just applied for a job and I've actually forgotten what it was for :o

I'm very grumpy today and I'm starving no matter how much I eat, it's driving me mad.

OMG!!! Back in the house and a little crispy around the edges.

DS1 was off on a "educational" trip with Grandma - Brittania and Leith waterfront (although to be honest I don't think the McFlurry on the way home was totally "educational" :rotfl::rotfl:)

So DS2 and I had the afternoon in the park with his playgroup pals. Consisted of us all arriving at 2.30pm and spreading blankets and each Mum in turn sneaking of to do their banking / shopping / ebay parcels / haircut - where there's a will.:D

For my part - I was parked on the corner of the blanket with my writing pad and came home with screeds of stuff to type up - multi-tasking at its best.

Chin up Willow - when you feel ready we can whip you over to other side I am sure to come up with a plan to move you forward - so for just now you are allowed to have a "Hard Times" session - you are allowed to vent on here all you like, but be warned, sooner or later we will shout, Stop!!!! time to get a wiggle on. Don't worry, we sound bad but we are not really. But deep breath hon - this too shall pass.

    MG

And I am now going to take my own advice and stop moaning about writing the script and just knuckle down and do it :D

Willow & Cricket - big hugs

Willow - you love animals - what about a wee bit of dog walking for f/t workers? - or even offering to housesit their pets on holiday? I'm sure the groomers & the charity shop would give you references....if you can work up to 16 hrs a week on JSA(did I hear someone say that earlier) then it might be worth it to keep you motivated & get you out the house

Crickett - it does get better - honest. Chewing gum TV for me - stuff like The Good Life & the Waltons always works

Anyhow - want a good laugh folks

DH & I are married 25 years in October :j:j. We'd planned a big holiday to go & celebrate & time off work was booked last June. Holiday was nearly booked @ weekend (lack of decision making & hunting of bargains).
    Not now it ain't
DH went in to work today to find a citation for a high court case as a witness dated when - yes, the first day of our holidays - and you can't get off these things unless you have tickets & stuff.
Now we're going to have to scramble to get 2 weeks off together at all.

And really - I can see the funny side of it - we might have our silver wedding holiday but fall out & not make it to the actual date......

    C'est la vie

I rang a local dog walking company twice and had no reply, any idea how to go about doing it myself?

Had another comment this evening about my lack of a job, "when all the food's gone in your part of the freezer that's it." As if to say she won't even feed me until I can get a job to pay for it myself. *chants to self* Trying to be positive...trying to be positive....trying to be positive...

Stick notes (or make up cards on the PC) through the surrounding doors

Till then, how about hand writing notes, putting something in the local free ads, and maybe even posting something on your FB page?

You could say you're available for dog walking, pet sitting, house sitting, baby sitting even stuff like waiting in for deliveries, getting shopping, ironing, cleaning, collecting dry cleaning etc. Brand it as 'personal concierge services' or something similar and then put a list of everything you can help with. A friend's daughter did this through uni and picked up enough work to keep her busy in the holidays. She helped me out a few times which was great. I now have a neighbour's son who cuts the grass for me and washes the car... His younger sister waters the garden for me when I'm away for work or on holiday, and another neighbour's 15 year old daughter is going to do my cleaning for me over the summer. There are plenty of other people out there like me who need help, and you can use ANY experience to your benefit. Even 20 years later my one month helping out one of my parents' friends when her nanny left just before Christmas and she was unwell expecting baby no.5 can still be relevant to job hunting and working life! (not that I'm drawing parallels between management and childcare....:p)

I would love to hand write little notes but I'm scared they'd get all smudgy as I'm left handed... I'll write a few out just to test it then I'll write out a load and post them tomorrow :)
