Hi Cheri - at least its only for a short time, remember the battle cry is "I'm not broke, I'm only skint".

Remember that "this too shall pass" - sometimes it would be great if it got a move on though.

And yes Cheery, I did reply, and i have a feeling there will be a lot of mickey-taking over at the workshop this afternoon. At least it was me he texed by mistake and not one of the Old Dears:eek:

Claire - deep breaths and baby steps!

Crickett - sounds like you're on your way to a change of attitude. As for the work thing - are you looking around for options of other stuff to apply for? If not then I think you should - even if you *don't* apply for anything at least you will know what is out there.

MG Loving your fruity accidental text - how embarassed is he going to be next time you both walk out your front doors at the same time! :rotfl:

Am currently playing about with the idea of trying to challenge myself to make at least £1 per day - every day. So surveys, eBay etc can all count. At the moment it feels like it's going backwards though because OnePoll is tediously slow and TCB no longer works from my desktop PC - haven't a clue why but will have to set aside some evening time to get back to that. Realistically £1 per day is so little as to be almost ridiculous, but a) at least that way it's not such a *huge* thing I get scared off and b) over a year, by the time I have made more some days, that will be nearly an extra £400 so worth having!

Lunch here was Ham and salad pitta, 2 x kiwi fruit and a banana. :A Feel really full of energy and determination today - I wonder whether this is the healthy eating thing really beginning to make a difference?

Fantasia GO YOU!!!! :T You're doing fabulously well!

Thanks MG, I know that it is only for a short time. Been in worse times than this so I can manage. I do think that it is character building. By the way, I am not skint I am cash poor soon to be asset rich. ;)

International Bankers are ............. not very good at there job (would like to call them a rhyming word) and it annoys me that they get paid so much to mess my money up and I have to point out there mistakes. Still there is a very happy person somewhere in Austria with a rather large sum of money sitting in their account. As I said to the banker, it is their money not mine as they are about to put my money where it should be. Its up to them to get the other lot back. I wonder if that person in Austria has been reading the secret and writing cheques to the universe!

Hello Matrix... I have had a lovely day today. Largely because I spent the whole day on the sofa stitching. I have posted my progress on the Cross Stitch thread, as I don't want to mess up things here. And some more good news is that the parcel I was waiting for on Saturday was finally delivered this afternoon. The items I bought are utterly swoonsome and I am thoroughly over excited by them. I have now banned myself from buying any more crafty stuff. I need to use up some of my stash.

I also spoke to hubby about things - I thought he would think I was being a hypochondriac when I told him I thought I was depressed. He nodded his head and said "Yup, I think you are". He thinks it has kind of crept up on me this time... but I am not so sure. I think the positivity and the trying to look on the bright side has masked it, but this has been brewing for a long time. This time though, I am going to ask for help with it, rather than getting myself through it on my own. And if that means going to the doctor to get anti-depressants, then so be it. I have had 2 nervous breakdowns and never had to have drugs. I don't want to have a third, and I will take the drugs if the homeopath can't help. So, I have a way forward.

I am also going to think about whether I tell my boss or not. I want her to be informed of what is going on with me... but by the same token, people don't really understand mental health issues very much and there is a huge stigma attached to them. I don't want her to make me feel even more excluded but then again, if I don't tell her, will I be doing anything wrong? I am not going to act until I have an idea generally. I might spend some time tomorrow looking at the sickness policy at work and then deciding.

Bah - i had just typed a nice long, sensible, well constructed reply. Gah!

Basically - at our uni, we have a medical/occupational therapy centre - it's worth going to see them, to chat things through.

I would tell your boss - even if for information only. She doesn't have to alter anything - just as long as she knows you're going through "something"

I would also not rule out pills. The seem to fill in the depths of the horrible horrible lows... i don't know if they fix them or if you don't notice them - but either way, really useful while you're sorting out your "things"

I would also suggest that if you did a straw poll of your department there would be several who were going through the same, and many more who had done so in the past. People will empathise, even if they don't "get it"

Also, remember you are ill, even though you can't see that something is broken. In many ways it's easier with a broken leg, because people can see the plaster. Don't forget though, that you do need to allow yourself time to heal - and that is why some people take a few weeks of sick leave to adjust to the tablets/give themselves time to sort the big things. Up to you - your dr might suggest it. Your choice of course :D xxx

Hands up crickett luv - I've taken the tablets, and they did help. I didn't do PND (no time LOL) but I did fall to bits a bit when my partner of 6 years announced his intention to become a lady.

Feel a bit of a prat now about my reaction - but the medication was the right and proper thing to do at the time.(as opposed to gallons of vodka and a pair of secateurs which was my first reaction :D)

Go, do what needs doing woman - there's no shame, no stigma, no judgement here ..................... unless you decide to do absolutely nothing and morph into being one of those whiny, wingy, victim ladies that we "love" so much in which case we will all gang up on you and kick your bahookie :D

Time to take care of crickett I say.

TMIF... thanks. I think that was a very coherent reply anyway!! :) We do have Occupational Health, and I think I might ask for a referral from my manager. It can't hurt, can it?! :D

And thanks MG - I can imagine how finding your partner is going to change sex might discombobulate you... It was bad enough when my first boyfriend told me he was gay. And fear not... I will do something about it. I do not want to have a third nervous breakdown. It would feel like carelessness!! :D

Crickett, Glad your going toget help, I'm sorry I have no advice, as I've been one of the fortunate ones who hasn't had depression, so I have no idea what your going through, But I'm here if you want to have a winge anytime, but like MG said, I may also kick your Bahookie if you winge too much lol.

Right I've had a break cause I wasn't getting anywhere, so its calculator time, I may be calling help on the other side, cause I really do not know what I am doing :(
