Happy !!!!!!! fathers day
My charming ex has today:
- Stood outside contact centre when I went to drop DD off (even the other mums feel that he is intimidating - I have learned not to get intimitated but I do get annoyed)
- Bought DD sweets despite that we have agreed that he brings her fruit instead (he did give the fruit as well)
- When buying her sweets explaining to her that he is doing it because he loves her (Hello, what do you think DD is going to do when she grows up and feels a bit unloved - COMFORT EAT!!)
- Told DD that he is going to cry on the way home because he misses her (DD is 6 that is emotional blackmail!!!!)
- Brought her back late (only five minutes but it happens every time and is a disrespect to the staff that should be able to close up and go home and which are all voluntary workers)
- Stood outside the contact centre waiving to DD when I left (note all the other parents had gone and staff was still inside locking up).
I am going to sit down now for 10 minutes doing cross stitch. Then I am feeding the troops and then I shall go into strike for the rest of the eveining. I bought today two books that should keep me occupied: Excel 2010 and Ebay for Dummies. (I have 5000 books to sell before I can claim an office space...)
Phew... feeling better already...

I left work today. :j When I went in, Interflora delivered a beautiful bunch of flowers to me on the shop floor, and the guys had a bottle of rose cava for me in the tearoom. It was almost (but not quite!) enough to make me reconsider leaving.
I will miss the amazing people I met there, though. *Sniffs*
Spent this morning weeding at the allotment: am quite proud that my ranks of lettuce and red onion soldiers were standing to attention when I got there. ATTEN-SHIUN! :rotfl:0 -
How lovely Sunflower! :T:T :T Glad it wasn't *quite* enough to make you regret leaving
Woo hoo, here's to your new life! :j :j :j

Thanks, Cheery: hell freezing over wouldn't be *quite* enough to convince me to stay, but here, indeed, is to my new life! :j :j :j :j :j0 -

Morning ladies
Going to spend a quiet day here at MG Manor - taking a day for rest and reflection as when I did so last week I had masses of energy to see me through a busy week.
DS2 and I are going to have a lazy breakfast and then take a potter around the garden (I would like to pull a few weeds that have appeared)
How are you guys spending you Sunday?

I am going to hang out the washing that has just finished in the machine, do the bathroom and then a bit of hoovering and that is it! Dad comes round for dinner, he then goes home at about 2.30pm so that means I have Sunday afternoon to do what I want.
I love having nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon (well there is lots to do but I can usually ignore it, as the main stuff will have been done) and will probably sit and read my book or maybe watch a film with my daughter - lovely. Then about 4-5pm the dark clouds will come over me as I think about going to work tomorrowEven though I love my job, I still don't like the thought of getting up early on a Monday morning :rotfl:

Hi
I always seem to do the hokey-cokey on this thread, I pop in and out all the time :rotfl:
Hopefully I have managed to help Claire and she will be able to get away from the world of benefits.
Today I have to clean the animals out, move the baby turkeys to the field, strim the grass and then tonight I have booked us into a pub for a meal.
I know I moan about relative a lot but actually I feel really sorry for him today, he has 2 sons who are complete and utter kn0bs and what has he got from them today - 1 card .
Last year when he moved in with us he sold his house and gave his son's £37,000 each and they spent it in less than 6 months . They are both back on benefits and scrounging off the state (I say scrounging as they are fit to work but claim they are not - I did report both sons last year and their benefits were stopped, have heard on the grapevine they are claiming again so will report them again)
Last year he had been with us a few months, on the actual day he got a card from both his sons plus a mug (I think), we got him a Someone Special card and some t-shirts and then we had a meal out.
Anyway I digress, so this year both son's are skint, ne is moving away and we are not supposed to know where to but we do :rotfl:. One son has got him nothing and when he saw him in the week did not mention it, the other son has sent a card . As yet he has no phone calls from either of them.
Once again I got him a Someone Special card and found 2 books he will really like
The reason for my slight rant is that he is not actually our relative, he is my husband's mother's first husband (she left him to marry my husband's dad and then they had my husband) so technicaly no relation but we count him as part of the family which is just as well.
But as MG said on her wheel of life family is what you make it and it is not just blood relatives.
I feel so so sorry for him, all I can do is make sure the rest of his life is good - he is 72 and has lots of medication etc. His sons have scrounged all their lives - they are now in their 40's and have worked for about 3 mnths of their lives
Anyway me and DH have a good laugh and move on, we cannot change them but one we do not speak to as we fell out over 8 years ago and it is so lovely not to have the hassle.
Sorry about the above, some of you may have read it on my diary already.
What I really came on here to talk about was Wheel of Life - are we allowed to discuss it on here?
Hope so because I have a question and some thoughts.
I actually found it quite difficult to do, in my work place some people use star charts for their clients which is a similar idea so why I found it hard is a odd one.
My lowest score was Personal Development, I scored myself a 5 but I am not sure if I am being too harsh on myself.
I have done lots of courses associated with work, I try to expand my horizons a bit but is that enough for me. I was thinking that to score a 10 I should be doing this all the time hence the low score. But actually having thought about it I am quite happy with my personal development - at the moment there is nothing really that I want to do with this so should my score be higher?
I also scored low in fun but that is because we don't have much money and I always associate fun with spending money - I really think I need to change my mind set as to me fun is spending time on the field with the animals even if that means clearing them out and that does not cost a penny.
Thanks MG for giving me something to think about.:T
