Came up with the following for the lentils, having worked out what else needed using: I cooked four salad potatoes having first cut them into thick slices, the lentils were also cooking away at the same time. I then cooked a small cubed courgette in a drizzle of olive oil, adding three rashers of chopped streaky bacon and a little garlic once those started to soften. Once they were cooked I drained the lentils and the spuds, separated out a little of the spud for MrEH to have in an omlette later, and then put the lentils and potatoes back onto the pan with a little more olive oil, and a splash of lemon. Added the bacon & courgette mix, stirred it all together, and consumed with gusto! :D

YAY! I have managed to get onto the other side while at home. So now officially, the only place i can be ex-matrix is when my work and home laptops are all off! Hoorah!

Right... might be time to stop playing on my computer...! Currently we are listening to Cardiff Singer of the World and then at 9pm, we are going to watch a programme about the so called Rock Choir, which is something I really, really want to do!! :D And then... bed!

Really need to find a way of coping at work tomorrow. Hope I manage it. I hate it when I get all frustrated and annoyed just because people are being !!!!!s. It really is not my problem, and yet I end up winding myself in knots about it! Sigh!

Looks like hubby won't be working this weekend after all. I am really pleased in one way... but really hacked off as well... I had made alternative plans! So I am currently endeavouring to rearrange the alternative plans. Still... at least I won't be getting lonely over the weekend. :D

  • evening all!

Bitsy I'm really glad to hear your friend is OK. Not so good about the pelvis splitting (sounds horrendous!) but sounds much better than the alternative.

Fantasia, how great that you gave in but decided you hated it! :T well, not so great that you gave in, but at least it has taught you that you don't like it so probably won't go there again! Funny isn't it how our brain gets into a pattern, convinces us we really want/need something, we get it, and decide that actually we didn't want it after all :rotfl:

thanks for all the lovely doggy comments. when we got the last one (race name Double Bubble, Bubble for short. not his fault!) he most definitely found us. he was very chilled out and we were drawn to him because he wasn't leaping about like a mad thing, like some of the others were. he seemed very laidback so something about that made us think, that's the one for us. My mum has one now who literally stopped the traffic in the middle of a road I had never been on before, the exact same colours as Bubble, just as I had been missing him horrendously a couple of years back (I shared 'custody' with my ex hubs so didn't see him all week). She was going to cause an accident so I managed to coax her off the road, opened the back of my car and in she jumped. She had been dumped, the owner claimed her but was only too pleased when we offered to re-home her.

So I will be popping along with an open mind and seeing who appeals and will fit in with what I need - definitely an older dog/s though.

crickett, hope you can find an appropriate coping strategy for tomorrow. The people I work closely with are good at laughing things off when personalities get too much. Thanks for the reminder about the full moon - the last one was proper mad at my work, people going completely off it about absolutely nothing!! It's been calm so far but I will be prepared for daftness tomorrow :D

Evening all, Bitsy glad you're friend is okay.

Hugs to Crickett, you may need your protective bubble tomorrow lady!

Gemzie, ace news about your Mr.

Fantasia, glad it was horrible! and you're back on track.

Will be needing all the positive vibes you can give me on Saturday at about 1pm folks. I need to get the zip up on my dress for my friends wedding that I bought when i was about 6lbs lighter!!!! Its a bit of a struggle and I'll need to focus on that for next month before I let my body loose on the world in a bikini in August!!! Really looking forward to the wedding but Ive spent a lot already and Im not even there yet. Great friend though so really looking forward to it.

Have good weekends all. Ill hopefully check in before I head off tomorrow X

Not only is it the full moon, but the equinox is coming up, so expect lots of hormones and disruption!

Crickett... You don't go to work to be liked, you go to do the job you're paid to do to the best of your ability. You have friends elsewhere, so rise above it and put it out of your mind the rest of the time. ETA it could be the change in diet that has had the hormonal effect. If you want to talk about it then pm me. I'm in a similar position to you (although not quite ready to commit to babies due to lack of commitment by OH...) and my recent treatment has shed some light...

Gemmzie - great news about OH's job.

Fantasia - you're right, it wasn't a failure, but more than that, I'd say it was a success. You proved that you no longer enjoy smoking and that your taste buds are recovering. Without the test you would never have known. So really... It was absolutely the right thing to do!

Thank you Souk (although how any1 could be glad that an experience was horrible, well you just have to doubleback and read yeah?)

Older greyhounds are amazing and grateful for a home but if anyone has any doubts just check out greyhound rescue UK read, learn, visit and check out the dog you like, then leave a donation and when that all done go to Great Dane rescue UK and love all these abandoned, mis-bred babies Please please please at least look. Thanx xxxxxxxxx

    Good morning.

Having a good clean through today as the house has been a bit neglected.

Have to go and put money in the bank before my dd's bounce :(

Then I'm going to take it easy as I am very sore today.
