Back from hospital and ok but quite sore after all the prodding and poking :( Am being referred to physio and back to consultant possibly for a GA and good neb at my bladder - at least they agree I have got some issues - was dreading them saying there was nowt wrong and to go away.

Have (for once) been sensible and taken rest of morning off to try and get myself back into a decent frame of mind (and away from loo) before heading back to work - tragically I do quite like daytime tv and dh has been out and got lotsy yummy snacks to cheer me up

  • MG hasn't been around yet today... hope she (and the family) are okay! Positive vibes for everyone.

I am declaring myself an internet free zone for the rest of today. I have TONNES to do and not nearly enough time to do it in. :D See you later tonight (when I am at home) or tomorrow! :D

Fantasia - Hugs honey, the fact that you've been too frightened to post this for 2 days shows to me how committed you are to making this work. But failure is a valuable tool though and just think if you'd never had that wee puff you might be wondering days, months down the line what it tastes like. Now you know and can remind yourself of how vile it was ;) Baby steps my sweet xx

What she said!! You are doing GREAT!!! :j
Ahhh! Well I've agreed to it... remember I said I was asked if I wanted to do a bit of teaching...

I'm doing 1st year financial accounting and a nice module called Managing Personal Finance. They don't do actual lectures for these 2, they are taught in small groups, so perfect for me. I am going to have 2 groups each for each module for 12 weeks :) (Should help with the bathroom fund)

The Head of School asked my boss, and she just said fine, as long as it's after 4pm or I make up the time (Woo!)

    Scary days!

    FANTASTIC - Well done :T

Thanks for the hugs everyone, I'm still feeling over-emotional about it all....he doesn't appreciate that I have bent over backwards to try and maintain DD's relationship with him whilst protecting her emotionally. For example when she last used to have weekends with him nearly 3 years ago (she's now 6), he would keep her up stupidly late - going out for dinner at 9pm !!!!!!, and then she would come back and have unsettled sleep and be very clingy to me for about a week afterwards. Of course he would never see that he'd in some way upset the balance, and I'm just a neurotic b1tch of an ex-wife in his eyes :(

But, given that the 2 dates he suggested for another afternoon visit in the next couple of weeks don't work for us due to Rainbows etc etc, he will probably crawl back under his rock for another year, well that's the hope! In the meantime, I have to stop being hurt, angry and feeling like I must be awful if he's doing this (he was a big emotional abuser, very cruel in subtle ways whilst we were together, completely eroded my self-confidence) and get back to being the happy Kittikins I know I am these days......

Are you my twin? I could have written that.

Fantasia try to hold onto the feeling of that vile taste in your mouth - it shows how much ALREADY in just this short time your taste-buds have become more acute - remember you used to have that taste in your mouth on a daily basis without even thinking anything of it! I think you can see your lapse as a positive thing - you'll have cravings again I'm sure but you now know that smoking a cigarette is not going to ease them. Stage 1 complete, now onto stage 2! :T

Mrs Hicks How's OH's wrist today?

KK What an idiot your ex is - neatly marking his lack of responsibility as a parent out though - presuming that a parent would be happy to let a 6 year old go off with a comparative stranger! Easier said than done I know but try not to let him get at you - try to come up with a ridiculous image of him in your mind (like dealing with a boggart (?) in Harry Potter - imagine him with a custard pie in his face, or fallen over *splat* into a muddy (or worse!) puddle for example - then bring that image to mind when he's being a f'wit, he'll wonder what the heck is going on if he's trying to annoy you and you're laughing!)

Dora Glad to hear it wounds like you're being taken seriously - that HAS to be a good start, right?!

Bitsy Fingers crossed for your friend - I hope all is OK for her.

Oceanspirit thanks for the recipe idea - sounds yummy! Might not do it tonight but will certainly bear that in mind for another time!

Right - I have my usual "long as your arm" thursday list and sitting on here is NOT getting it done!

Crickett : Could you try some visualisation to help at work? I know some people suggest that you imagine difficult folk as naked but, to be honest, (where’s a vomiting smiley when you need one?).

I’ve imagined people having tails or moustaches or wearing kiss me quick hats. If I did it right, it meant I walked round with a smug grin on my face which should have driven them mad.

Fantasia : At least, if you are tempted again, you will remember the results! It’s one thing I’ve been nervous about. If I’m tempted, I’ll remember you. It was just a blip and you are back on course.

Cheery : another proof for Sod’s Law.

TellmeitsFriday : Teaching groups like that is not only nicer to do but also more effective. Well done you – that’s another string to your bow.

Dorastar : I’m glad that they agreed that you have ‘issues’. There is nothing worse than a health worry not being taken seriously. I hope it is easily dealt with.

MG : I shouldn’t laugh but had an image of you hunched over and typing furiously!

Hugs, vibes, etc., to all who need them.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Oh, and can I just have a minor rant at the universe please?? I've spent MONTHS requesting people to take part in our research - we only needed about 10! Last week we decided enough was enough, and we'd just deal with what we'd got.

Since then, we've had another FOUR people get in touch, and someone else tell me that they just sent 10 information packs out in the post yesterday. Aarrgghh!

Is it wrong to request that people now STOP getting in touch?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sod's law indeed - strangely enough, when I rang 2 of them after writing this, they both turned out to be unsuitable anyway - the first time this has happened on this project! Maybe the universe is listening now?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi all.. Fantasia please don't hide again! One wobble is not important on the way, plus it sounds like you learned a lot from the experience. Focus on those good feelings :)

Hugs KK for ex, Crickett for work and Dora for hospital visits.

Big well done to TMIF for getting the teaching :T

Been feeling really fed up with work and puzzling over how to get experience of other things - did a search this afternoon and found an online volunteering opportunity helping to write/ edit online courses - applied and they emailed back straight away, asked for my CV and then asked me to sign up and have already given me a course which has been half-done to finish writing (basically have to proofread and edit the chapters and write introductions for them based on the content). Rather pleased :)

Thank you so much for positive vibes. It would appear that terrible pain would be her pelvic bone splitting  she told me SPD is quite common in IVF mums due to the length of treatments they have they are more prone to it. She said pain is lessening so that's good news :T

I found out last night that a woman who'd enquired about childcare had made other arrangements so I thought that's another door closed. Whilst at nursery visit with DD one of the mums asked me if I knew any good CM's. Well it would have been rude not to put myself forward ;) So she's got my number, hours would suit me perfectly so as one door shuts another one opens.

I am rather enjoying this positive thinking malarky :D

Tricia - Vomiting smiley coming up ;)barf.gif

Fantasia - I hope you don't think my post was suggesting YOU were a failure.....I try not to associate negative connotations to the word failure. By making mistakes and slip ups we learn so I don't see that as a bad thing. Just with everyone saying you're not a failure I didn't want you to think I was saying your were IYKWIM :o:o

Hugs for those that need them xxx

Think I might have found the reason for me to have zero patience with people. First of all it is a full moon at the moment, and let me tell you, I have lots and lots of stupid phone calls when it is a full moon. Secondly, I think my hormones might be imitating the Amazon in spring flood - "that" time of the month/year/decade. If it is the latter, then it is one for the history books. Exactly 4 weeks from last time, which hasn't happened since I was 16. Seriously. Anyway, when I am hormonal I suffer fool even less gladly than normal!! :D

MG glad to hear you are okay. But pants to computer problems. Sending positive technology vibes. :D

So, now I am home, I think I am going to go and find a nice stitching project for me to get my teeth into. I have so many in my stash so I have decided to go shopping from my stash. :D I am looking forward to it already! Just have to feed the beasts before I do that. Or else i shall have a large black and white cat sitting in my craft drawer with a very cross look on is face!! :D

Lots of positive vibes to all of you.

See you tomorrow morning, if not before!
