    Well done MG! :T And wow to DS1 being invited to an evening with NASA! :T :T :T How very exciting! :T :T

    (((((((((Crickett)))))))))) working at home is harder than people think sometimes! Takes a while to get into it - and remember that you're not fully productive every minute of the day in the office - and you consider your work done when you leave the building - so you should do the same thing at home (the temptation is always to carry on for an extra hour to make up for the time you spent internetting/drinking tea etc, but you wouldn't do that at the office!).

    Hooray for nat's husband! :T

    ~~~~vibes for your friend Bitsy~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ((((((matrix folks far and wide)))))))))))))))))
    Had our away day at work today, absolutely lovely day, but didn't get home til 7.30 (seem to have lost an hour in the library on the way back, oh dear :D). Home and fed now, and I need to have a jolly good think about organisation and sharing of household tasks - I've had to eat instant mash and boiled egg for my tea, and Mr Daffs has managed to eat 8 (yes, EIGHT) bananas since this morning! :eek:
    (and I refuse to go back out to the shops right now, and he's not here pah!)
    More tea I think - at least we've got teabags :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Yay we have internet again - it died on Monday and only got fixed today so have been awol and missed loads of pages.
    Been busy schooly wise and dh has been doing extra shifts while work is short staffed so we have barely seen each other apart form a 10 o'clock de-brief each night. We are working our way through tv programmes we have taped so has been quite nice munching supper and chatting our way to bed each night but am tired today as most of his shifts end at gone 10pm and I am no owl!
    Have only briefly skimmed pages so well done to those who need it and hugs to those who need them too.
    Am off for hospital visit tomorrow to see what on earth my insides are really up to so positive vibes (ones where they don't dismiss me for being there in the first place type vibes) would be good. Have got to drink my body weight in water before I go so that will be a fun way to start my morning.
    Congratulations on the standing ovation MG - that is just fabulous! :D
    Well, I have had a very successful time - as soon as I left the office! :D I went to Sainsbury's for some lovely tea stuff (peas shoots and baby herb salad and some chicken steaks. I also got some of their beek chili kebabs and lamb and mint kebabs which are very toothsome!! :) ). Then I filled up my car, and picked up my software purchases at PCWorld and then drove home. Whereupon I began to cook dinner and install software simultaneously!
    Well, I now have a working office 2010 suite as well as all my java stuff downloaded. I have a book from Amazon heading my way all about it, and I am getting into my other book as well. I am making plans for this weekend as my poor hubby is working all weekend and I will be on my lonesome for most of it. I am going to do the chores which need doing and then hopefully pottering in the garden. If the weather does not behave then I think I will play on my lovely computer and get all my websites set up on it. Including "the other side" - of course.
    Right - I am going to try and work out a way of managing tomorrow and Friday without inflicting bloodshed on anyone else or my own breakdown!
    The only thing that is keeping me going at the moment is the thought of getting my business off the ground.
    I know how you feel. Sometimes I am sitting in the office grumbling for not having the freedom I desire and for you it is especially bad at the moment as that freedom is right there on your reach. I must thank you for your determination. It makes me get off my backside to learn things that I will be needing in my venture - however I need to put up with the situation a bit longer as I need to log my work experience and get PER signed off before gong solo.
    Well, Im going to gate crash.. Hi to you all. Pickle suggested I take a look. The things that inspire me are the true stories of those who have achieved against the odds. I love the film In the Pursuit of Happiness which stars Will Smith as a guy called Chris Gardner who as a single parent didn't lose sight of his dream. A wonderful inspirational story and so makes you feel you can achieve anything you put your mind to.. Well, thats it. Best wishes everyone. Will follow from time to time if I may!. Take care
    Good news Marru. Shall we have a whip round to buy him a shovel to dig his hole deeper? :A
    Perhaps even a nice big JCB. :j:j
    After the conversation I had today I don't think we should waste that much energy. I can do charming as well ;)
    Bitsy - all the best possible vibes on their way to your friend
    Marru - sometimes it's nice when you don't have to say anything and people get themselves into trouble all on their own :D good luck for the next stage :)
    Just give them enough rope... :rotfl:
    here is the linky if you are interested, check out Topper and Rodney as they are talking loudly to me through the screen. Although Cooper is beautiful too. But I can't manage more than 2 on a walk with their long legs, leads and poopscooping to contend with :D Piper is the same colour as the one I have just said goodbye to. Except mine had a face that was all grey by the time he went.
    I am off to Italy in a couple of weeks for some harping/break from bean counting, and will have a good think/recharge while I am away, and will see how I feel when I get back.
    Love them, love them, love them!!! :j Well done you!!! Yep, go for two absolutely (my choice would be Suzi). And have a loooovely trip.
    Ok in five minutes time I could be doing one of these:
    1) watch and listen free webinar on subject: Start, buy or build any business with little or none of your own cash
    2) watch apprentice
    3) go to bed as I am shattered
    MG - WOOHOO you rock!! :T
    Oh Mrs Hicks your poor OH - how on earth did that happen? Hope he's more comfortable soon.
    Lionheartedgirl I hope the perfect dog or dogs choose you - I'm another who is a great believer in the animal choosing you rather than the other way round - Mum & Dad had a rescue dog and when we went to Battersea to find a dog she just spotted me and that was it.....
    MG & other culinary types....I need some inspiration. Usually on a thursday night OH is in and I'm not, so he has an omlette. Tomorrow I'm in as well and I had been thinking about doing omlettes for both of us but have now realised I don't have enough eggs. I'll leave those I do have to MrEH I think, and I have a fancy for doing something healthy with lentils, maybe some bacon (I have some in the freezer and MrEH can use the rest for his omlette) and I'm not sure what - ideas gratefully received though!
    Hello guys n gals, and welcome to newbies :)
    Anyone got a shovel for my exOH who has made me cry tonight with his behaviour :( He's not seen DD for a year, and has now spent a whole 3 hours with her before her bedtime today, woo hoo, get the trophy for world's winkiest dad out :( He's now playing hard to get re: when he's next coming to see her and the fact he thinks it perfectly reasonable to have her for an as yet unspecified weekend when in my eyes she doesn't know him.........*sigh*.........
    Oh well, another glass of wine might stop me feeling sorry for myself. Thank goodness I have a lovely OH in my life these days who didn't bat an eyelid when I sobbed down the phone to him about how sad I feel that DD has this man in her life (and sadly in mine too).
    I've been bingeing for days dreading seeing him, wondering if he would be polite, rude, or as he did, just walk away whilst I was mid-sentence, even though I was being very polite. I wish I could fathom out why he loathes me so much :( We were together for 10 s*dding years and until the day he unexpectedly walked out on us, I thought he loved me as much as I loved him :(
    G*d, sorry for clogging up the thread with this rant....
    Oh heck KK, think you need a hug across t'internet ... You are dealing with a tricky situation and you need to feel comfortable about exOH being in sole charge of DD. I'm sure there will be others to advise who are better than me, but dangling the weekend away sometime is just juvenile and very unfair.
    Just a wee quickie ladies....
    To let you know that I did not apply for the job. There have been "movements" in the area that the job was in & although it is a growing area there are changes afoot in it which might not bode well for me moving at the moment.
    But all is not bad - I now know that I have to have a CV for even internal job apps so this will be made up & ready to go for any future positions.
    Think news at the weekend about a possible 15,000 job losses in a company & you'll understand my position.....:eek::eek:
