Well, Im going to gate crash.. Hi to you all. Pickle suggested I take a look. The things that inspire me are the true stories of those who have achieved against the odds. I love the film In the Pursuit of Happiness which stars Will Smith as a guy called Chris Gardner who as a single parent didn't lose sight of his dream. A wonderful inspirational story and so makes you feel you can achieve anything you put your mind to.. Well, thats it. Best wishes everyone. Will follow from time to time if I may!. Take care

 Hello PaF - nice to see you here. Feel free to join in when you can! ::j

I can't believe how many of us have managed to get locked in at one time or another, lol! :D

Not been locked in but have been locked out of the house by my dear lovely son when he was a toddler :eek: Boy was that a frantic 10 mins (in the rain, I'd dashed out to get the washing in off the line and managed to turn the key I'd left in the lock) waiting for my mum to come round with spare keys.

Well, I think it very likely to win the 'locked in strange and embarrasing places' competition (if there were such competition). I have been locked in toilets twice - once at 16.00 in the afternoon in a toilet at a working place mainly of men (so was getting ready to spend the weekend there) and once on a flight to Brussels. And I was travelling Business class and the plane could not land - because I was locked in the toilet. When the pilot earned his keep by breaking the door open (so he can land the thing) there was applause form every one on the plane. Not scary but makes up for embarrasing.

That is one of my fears getting locked in somewhere and not being able to get out,

I've never been locked in but when I was 7.5 months pregnant we travelled on the ferry to a wedding in Ireland (I was too far gone to fly). Well if you've ever been on a ferry they certainly rack 'em, pack 'em and stack 'em when it comes to the car park. I couldn't open the door enough to be able to get out my side with my huge bump and I had to clamber across to the drivers side (in a Disco which is no mean feat!) and quickly nip out of other door before they parked yet another car :eek: Came very close to having a panic attack on that one as it was sooooo hot there too.

Can I please ask you all for lots and lots of sticky positive vibes for my pregnant friend. She's in a lot of pain and they thought she might be having contractions although I don't think situation is very clear at the moment. This is her IVF baby so please Universe make sure mum and baby are OK through to full term.

Yet again falling behind but just wanted to say:

Cafcass went really well. Ex had sent them a real rant email - oh my what was he thinking. Anyhoo, trying now to get hold of solicitor and then getting ready for the court on 8/7.

Bit tired now after all that travelling but I have 25 minutes before I need to start working (at my desk already).

Good news Marru. Shall we have a whip round to buy him a shovel to dig his hole deeper? :A

Perhaps even a nice big JCB. :j:j
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?
  • Bitsy I'm thinking of your friend and hoping she feels better soon, what a worrying time for you all :(

Marru - sometimes it's nice when you don't have to say anything and people get themselves into trouble all on their own :D good luck for the next stage :)

Crickett sorry to hear things are so awful for you at work - but as you say, it's great to use this as an incentive to sort out something else that will suit you better, good luck with your laptop and the programming :)

I am desperately missing my large furry friend but am looking round at other rescue hounds. At the moment I am thinking 2 may be better than one as they will be good company for each other. My other dog was always very secure and happy on his own, but you can't assume you will get the same next time :) here is the linky if you are interested, check out Topper and Rodney as they are talking loudly to me through the screen. Although Cooper is beautiful too. But I can't manage more than 2 on a walk with their long legs, leads and poopscooping to contend with :D Piper is the same colour as the one I have just said goodbye to. Except mine had a face that was all grey by the time he went.

I am off to Italy in a couple of weeks for some harping/break from bean counting, and will have a good think/recharge while I am away, and will see how I feel when I get back.

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that working at my present place is not good for my mental health..... I think the stress and horribleness is partly to do with the characters of the people I work with and partly to do with my own attitude.

Wanted to quickly pop on to offer crickett a hug. Listen to yourself crickett, both oh and I have resigned from jobs in the past that played h*ll with our mental and physical health. Oh ended up in hospital with a twisted gut - yep all due to stress, ds was 3 months old at the time so that was fun times - not. I fought with my first proper job for 3 years before realising it wasn't for me - duh. I would not sleep a wink on Sun nights, literally lie there with my eyes wide open and my stomach churning all night. My first stop on the way in was the loos to throw up. My point being, both oh and I didn't listen to ourselves and we ended up ill.

    Thinking of you, Thriftyxxx

Oh how can I choose between those. They are all beautiful. I would have to go visit and let them choose me......... thats what has happened with all my dogs they have latched onto me. Right thing to do to wait until after Italy, you might be swept off your feet by a gorgeous italian and need to find an italian greyhound!

MG - great news on the space camp. Hmmm are there any dishy astronauts these days?
