Woohoooo!!!! One of my "old dears" - they live in the Sheltered Housing scheme over our fence, and they are not "old" like people were in the 70's (ie anyone over 50:rotfl:)But this lady is one of our Spring Chickens at 89
has just been around.
She is de-cluttering "prior to popping off to the great tea-shop in the sky dearie" :rotfl::rotfl:
She has brought me round a bag of sock wool - I can see everyone getting hand-knitted socks for Christmas now:j
Apparently I am the only one she knows who can still "see to knit" - I love my neighbours.

Morning ladies of the Matrix,
I am de-lurking for a brief moment to ask a small favour...... Could you please send positive thoughts to my OH who is currently climbing the walls in hospital waiting for a cardio-inversion. He was admitted yesterday once he noticed his heart beat had gone all wonky, and just needs to be plugged into the mains electricity briefly to sort it out (de-fib). Positive thoughts that he gets a theatre slot preferably this morning would be greatly appreciated, so I can get him home!
(I may sound a bit relaxed about the whole procedure, but he has had it done before and I know he will be ok!)
Many thanks, re-lurking, Nats xstart = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
Morning All, finally caught up after being A.W.O.L for a few days. So much has happened I can't remember it all to comment, but hugs to those who need them. Congratulations to others and WELL DONE to everyone on the continuing support and motivation for 1 and all.
Will treat myself to looking at MG's blog after lunch.
B.I.L's nautical party went really well and he was very moved. It reminded me how much I love party planning and would so like to do this as a job - - maybe I should add this to my patchwork income/life.
I was so tired/exhausted after the event that it sadly also reminded me about the M.E lurgy, but I just decided to have a couple of early night, drink plenty of water and to tackle clearing /restoring order to both houses for the rest of the week.
Off now to get dressed and start on my house - 1 step at a time.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Robsmum - thanks for the positive thoughts - and do not feel bad at all! Once he gets the procedure done he will be right as rain again! It's just the waiting that is getting to him! Glad your party was a roaring success - it deserved to be with all the effort you put in!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

Nat don't re-lurk - stay out and play with us!
Positive vibes heading towards your OH for a speedy theatre slot, a successful procedure, and being home (and down from the wals!) ASAP.
I have already walked up to the doctor's surgery this morning and goty an appointment (just routine) for later on - so I know how to beat that system now anyway! Just had my porridge for breakfast - with the remains of the stewed apple & sultanas from Sunday night's rice pudding. I have a list as long as your arm (as per flipping usual for a Tuesday!) and need to crack on (when I can drag myself off MSE on the 'puter, and exchanging tweets with our speedway Team Manager on the iPhone! LOL!) May post the list on here - or on my own diary at least - when I've extricated it from the email.
Have a good day all - Claire I hope your Mum's appointment goes OK!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Since I automated my debt repayments and made sure that every week I "Pay myself first" into the Freedom Fund I have found I have been less obsessive about worrying about money. I no longer focus on how little I have every day - instead I now have the space to concentrate on how to generate more income ............ a change in focus indeed.

Not counter-intuitive at all. Interestingly enough, I was just pondering an article about the reasons for that - why the 'poor' person's mentality of agonising over every penny is in effect preventing people from getting out of 'broke'. And this has not much to do with knowing where you money goes.
