You can use basically any fabric you like...
What you should look out for is thick interfacing. It gives the material a much firmer feel... (You can get stich in, or iron on...)
You should also save up thick card (or craft foam) for the bottoms...
To be honest, I cheat and buy it from u-handbags, so it's not MSE at all (but it's my hobby, so bah) but you can use alternatives to save ££!0 -

Lol I can dream lol.
I have actually got a stall, but whether I can make enough bags to fund my boiler I don't know.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
So much happening!
EH said “it's doomed to become one of those awful touchy feely huggy kissy FLUFFY threads where there are (apparently) always blue skies and bunnies and everything negative is left to fester! (I feel quite strongly that this shouldn't be allowed to happen...had you guessed?!)”
The day it does, I’m outta here!
Greenbee said “data validated from at least three different sources, audit trail, evidence. I quite liked working on forensic IT investigations in my last job. Like you and maryb I find the numbers don't come naturally, but the I get the concepts, and know what I want to achieve ... I just need other people to actually DO the stuff!”
Nowadays you don’t even have to remember the formulae – the computer programme does that. Provided the data is OK, it’s the interpretation of rigorous analysis without pre-conceptions – I leave the actual number crunching to people even geekier than I am!
Bitsy said “why oh why when I never seem to have time do I set myself these seemingly impossible goals.”
‘Cos you’re daft like the rest of us. Perfectionists, the lot of us. Then she talked about ‘inner gremlins’ - you do realise that we all have them, don’t you?
Marru said “I am sitting my Financial Management exam tomorrow from 10am to 1 pm - the working capital is not too bad but the share stuff is going a bit over the head.”
Make sure you get some sleep tonight. Exam nerves are normal – get that? NORMAL! We’ll all be sending vibes that you remember everything you have learned.
TellmeitsFriday wrote : “And remember - you only need 50%! I remember our tutor telling us that more than 50% was wasted effort (unless you are one of those bizarre types that want prizes!)”
So true!
Clairewop wrote : “I bought this pattern in the week to see if I can make the bags,http://romanianquiltstudio.com/english/bag-patterns.htm , Got some interfacing here I bought the other day, plus a nice peice of pink and which gingham material and plain pink material, could make it girly with a hello kitty patch.”
I have an 18 year old, trendy DGD who would love one of those. Especially if the pink matched her hair colour – no guarantee that it will still be pink by the time you’ve finished one – it was orange a week ago! I really like them and could (almost) be persuaded to dye my hair to match. That would cause a bit of a stir on the more conventional side of the family. Almost worth doing for the shock value. BTW : boiler pot coming along nicely.:T:T:T
And then Claire said : I'm nearly at 16% of my boiler target. :j:j:j
Souk : I really hope the dream job in the ideal location shows up soon.
Anyone I've missed, hugs, vibes etc as required.:cool:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0
