Greenbee - keep your chin up love. This from someone who was told she would never conceive and went on to have two lovelies. (I always was a contrary cow :rotfl:)
So positive thoughts about Babies tomorrow ladies - sending them to Crickett and Greenbee in the future ............... and evicting one from Parsnip asap:D
I've spent the evening on the sofa with DS1 watching "The Secret" - he is dead curious about what we have all been wittering about so I promised him we would sit down and watch it together. I even told him the story of how I came to acquire my copy after requesting it from the Universe.
He has now brought a copy of "Mindstore" down from my bookshelf and has asked if Jack Black (the Personal Development Guy rather than the comedy actor) could be the first "official" Mentor in his Gap Year. (the first unofficial one talked maths theory with him last week and has had him buzzing ever since).
So postitive vibes whilst I log onto the Mindstore site and send this guy an email asking if he will invite my 10yr old to his presentation of the 13th of June ............. DS1 is working on "The Secret" strategy of the universe replying "Your Wish is my Command" ..... so I had better go and ask
Tommorrow he is going to create his wn Vision Boards of the places he wants to visit in his Gap Year - so be warned I may be back looking for advice.
Off to email before I lose my bottle
MGFINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500

~~~~~~~~~~vibes for greenbee~~~~~~~~~~ thinking of you and hoping you get the result you want xxx
tenmah, bleurgh, I hate confrontationWhich is why I hope I never land up managing anyone
Good suggestions you've had here though - if he's out and about all the time would he perhaps need some contact with other people?? Is there something in the office he could be doing ever now and again? Being underemployed is no fun (not after a while anyway
)
Thanks for the vibes and advice today folks for my scary meeting. I think I popped in afterwards, but it's been one of those days and I can't remember!Felt much better afterwards though :T :T Boss is lovely, and said all the right things, and I have to learn, for once, to keep my nose out and wait to be asked before volunteering for things
A difficult lesson! :rotfl: but it's meant to be challenging, right?? :rotfl:
God, no! If anything, he is more likely to get reply: how many 10 year old read that kind of stuff?!
MG, if you want the best chance of getting a reply, get DS1 to handwrite a letter and post it, preferably in a really bright envelope on bright paper (stuff that stands out). An e-mail could be a hoax, but the guy your DS1 wants to mentor him is much more likely to respond if the letter stands out from the others and it evidently handwritten by a young hand.
I've learnt that standing out from the crowd IS a good thing this last few weeks: that's the reason that I've got this far in my interview process.
Having said that, I've got so much stuff left to do before tomorrow,I actually want to have a little cry.0 -
It has been said before and will be said again -'You lot can't half talk!'
Fantasia said : I have actually, over the course of the past couple of days, devoured the largest, ugliest frog that ever lived, simply by laying off the cigarettes. 4 DAYS SMOKE FREE, yay.
:T:T:T I'm 5 months, 2 weeks and 5 days ahead of you on this journey. It is worth it. No one who has not been where you are can understand but hold on there. So much of it is psychology and the way the sub-conscious mind works - Tricksy!
I'm now going back to my original sentence which seems appropriate since I have had supper and watched 2 TV programmes since starting this post.
It has been said before and will be said again -'You lot can't half talk!'But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Still working. Wonder how much sleep I will get.
(Stop grumbling, SunFlower, and get on with it!)
