Wow!!! That's Fantasia and my Dad getting "old but perfect" jobs back and starting on Monday:j. You know, they say these things always come in threes
Parentals have gone home - something about there being football on the telly this afternoon, but after a really shaky start loads got done.
Mum phoned this morning to say Dad had changed his mind about doing the car-boot tomorrow (he needs to go shopping for back-to-work clothes:p
:eek: I have had stuff pilin gup for three weeks already!!!
So rather than just say "OK" I said "that's a great idea, why don't we just take all the stuff we were going to car boot round to the Charity Shops and Furniture project, because I have guests in a week and having all this stuff cluttering up my rooms is just holding up the making of the rooms which WILL make me money"
Stuff stacked up in every room was driving me nuts and affecting how much work I was able to do.
So they came anyway and have grafted their hearts out - 2 runs to the furniture project, two runs to the coup and three runs with the baby buggy to misc Charity Shops.................... and my house, although far from clutter free (and far from clean) is at least a lot emptier. In fact it all feels like I might be able to pull it off
So for my boudoir I have a built in wardrobe waiting to be fitted, a carpet ready to be laid, curtain rods ready to be put up, curtains ready to be shortened and paint ready to go on the walls ................... it could be a busy week :rotfl:
After that, project DS2 room looms - but baby steps or I am going to drive myself nuts.
But first ................... Yup!!!! Coffee

Well done on the job Fantasia - sounds just what you need at the moment. I'd just echo what others have said, you absolutely did the right thing re alerting authorities. Its so important for children and young people who are in an abusive situation [and others who are vulnerable] that someone not only witnesses but is strong enough to do something about it. Not everyone is willing to get involved and I'm glad you were.
As you know it doesn't end there but I hope you and OH can work things out now you are communicating. Take care of yourslef with all thats going on. Teapot

Gah just been clothes shopping and having a fat and ugly day so going to fight it head on with a home pedi and full slap for tonight!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
-
Woo hoo Fantasia - your relief just leaps off the page :j:j:j. Keep moving forward my lovely.
MG - great news about the decluttering. Doesn't it feel so much better - I lurve getting rid of stuff. I'll join you on the decorating front next week - having today and tomorrow off. Great news on turning your house into an income-generating asset (sshhhh I read FW's blog, I've learnt loads :T). Goes off wondering if anyone would rent a blow-up bed in the front room.......
Eta: Hugs Souk, fat and ugly are not two words that apply to you.0 -
Well done MG! Good on you for being assertive
And excellent news on the decluttering
(((Fantasia)))))) brilliant news on the job! :j :j :j
((souk)))))) I am quite sure you are neither fat nor uglyI have just been clothes shopping too - and despite the fact that I am rather podgier than usual at the minute
I actually feel rather better for it! Very puzzling
I bought a bright red linen skirt for £3, a black vest top with little sequins round the top for £3, and a black fitted t shirt with little red roses on for £2 - I consider that a Spree - but for £8, it's a spree I'm not too worried about :rotfl:
And now I have a nice new outfit to wear for the 2 parties Im off to tonight :j :j
(Souk, I'm sure you'd be proud, this is part of my ongoing NOT wearing of holey underwear - I know none of these things are underwear, but the red skirt is replacing a blue cord one I love that is getting rather threadbare - I'm going to get rid of it rather than keeping it and feeling scruffy:eek: - and the two tops are replacing one that I LOVE, but which is threadbare, holey, and smells of sweat after wearing it for about 2 hours because of the fabric it's made of

Good to see things picking up all around. :j
I have done one small step towards being more organised, pictures in FW's thread(and mine
). BF is house sitting in the farm this weekend so we are heading there tomorrow. He is going to get DD to help with the work so that I can do some studying (unless I sneak out to cuddle some horses

Lots of good things on here today,
Yah to job news Fantasia. really pleased for you. It sounds perfect.
Well done Claire.
Pickle, sending positive vibes. You will get there.
MG sounds like a busy morning. And even busier week but you clearly have a plan so, piece of cake.
Have planted out some flowers which were not progressing so I hope they will flourish with a bit of sun. And done some hanging baskets - first year for three that I have bothered as the weather was miserable in earlysummer and CBA, but am pleased we have done it this year.
DS and DH watching a film I am not bothered about, so going to read for a while and watch Dr Who later on after dinner (HM Cottage pie and veggies)
Souk. sorry you are feeling a bit out of sorts, enjoy the pampering and have a great night out xxxx0 -
Well done you! And of course I'm neither really, just persisting down with rain and carrying a few pounds extra. Never mind, the toenails are done and loud musics going on for cheery purposes. Enjoy your party!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Everyone sounds much more chipper today - maybe the fact that it's a weekend is helping?
Have had a lovely day - kids taxied, went for aa drink and a cake with dd while ds was doing gymnastics which was really nice girly time, then been out with friends stitching all afternoon. One of them has her birthday tomorrow so her hubby turned up with a huge picnic of food and cava for us to share so am well fed and happy.
Tonight is Doctor Who, Casualty then either more stitching or reading one of two library books.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000

Wow, so many happy peeps this afternoon. Loving it.
Fantasia - what great news on all fronts. I am a fan of letter writing when words are not working. Glad OH understands - maybe you need to help each other through. Congrats on the job, sounds like you are on the up lady.
MG - your boudoir will be lovely but try not to overdo the decorating and hurt your back again. As for DS room dont think about it until yours is done (park it as I say) or you will become overwhelmed again.
Cheery, love the sound of that outfit and well done on deciding to part with your favourite (if threadbare) things. Could you use the fabric in patchwork or for a bag or anything?
Souk, fat? ugly? never! Sounds like the pedicure has perked you up now.
Pickle - good luck with the homework. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
