Thrifty (((hugs))), this is what I meant by Fantasia having the guts. A lot of people do small things to help and to salve their conscience that they are helping but are too scared to rock the boat.
Food for yesterday was: bowl of cereal with s/skimmed milk for breakfast, handful raisins & peanuts, cheese, crackers and home-made piccalilli for lunch, salmon, sweet potato wedges, roast tomato & broccoli for dinner, more peanuts & raisins and half a bottle of yummy red winewell it was Friday
Well done Claire on your boiler savings so far. I'm having a frog eating session followed by having my car MOT'd today.....fingers crossed she passes pleaseMortgage: 2011: 86000 - now: 499000 -
Morning - icklies up and fed. Dh still at work till about 11 so got plenty of pottering time to tidy and get ready for day.
Am taxi for ds (gym) then dd (dancing) then hopefully dh will be back and I can go stitching with friends for rest of day. Dd has a friend sleeping over tonight so got to tackle her room of doom before friend arrives but tbh her house is always so dreadful however bad ours is it looks ok in comparison!
Feel much more positive and energetic when I know I'm on hols from work so hopefully will get loads done in next two weeks. Will spend some time planning and budgeting tonight to see how much we can scoop into wall fund.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Good Morning - Thanks Cheri, love Gene Kelly and that really cheered me up
Its sunny here so I think that I am going to risk making up my hanging baskets and getting some of my plants moved outside. Was going to wait til next weekend but we are going to a birthday barbeque then so it makes sense to do it today. Just hope that the frosts are finally finished and we don't get a cold snap.
Drank more water yeterday so that is good. Cereal and berries for breakfast, cheese salad for lunch, (small chunk grated to make it seem more) and fish and veg for tea. I did eat one of the cookies I made but you shoud test them, shouldnt you?:rotfl:
Resisted the wine and lager though.
Want to reduce the amount of milk I have but I do love my coffee. Had less beause of the water though, so a step in the right direction.
Well done on the boiler money Claire. Just read my meter for my monthly bill and the good weather and hopefully the new boiler means less gas used0 -
Am desperatelt trying to catchy up after my wee break (still got a few pages to go)
BUT
FANTASIA - you absolutely did the right thing. The others who know & did nothing are as guilty as the abuser. I used to foster & I know what damage can be done (step-brother of one of our previous charges was shaken to death as a baby). I don't know the exact wording - but there's a phrase - The only thing that evil needs to suceed is for good men to stand by & do nothing. Through life circumstances I've been in this type of situation more than once - and if you know in your heart you've done the right thing & you can live with yourself then the rest, although hard, can be coped with
And Crickett, EH & the rest.... can I join you on the other side too? - I have about the same challenge as you do Crickett
Or, if not everyone can access the other side we could start another thread

My house guests (Popeye's relatives from America) have gone out for the day and the peace is brilliant
Today I must list (for free) a shed-load of ebayable stuff
Next Saturday I've arranged to do a boot fair (I hate doing them but that should be a fast de-clutter) so I should sort that stuff too
But what I want to do is tidy the front garden........
So instead I'm having proper coffee, milk in a jug and a hot cross bun in the sunshine - that's my heaven0 -
Morning all. I'm firing on all cylinders today, 3rd load of washing in the machine, the other 2 are on the line already. Bank accounts checked and ho hum, I've already spent about £50 of next month's salary, oh dear.......Going to try and make today a NSD but will be in and out taking DD to dance show (and watching it myself), picking OH and friends up to take them to the show, my parents meeting OH for the first time (nerve-wracking as they appear to have pre-judged him and found him lacking
) and got to tidy up the house.
Food-wise - 2 slices wholemeal toast with marmite, couple of grapes, scone with raspberry jam (oops, how did that find its way into my mouth??), big glass of water. Nerves are playing a big part for me today...

Just caught up with the thread, it moves so fast - blink and it has another 10 pages!!
Cherisong - What a great wee tune, I will have it running through my head all day now. Shame the sun is NOT here today, but the wind is so hopefully the washing will dry.

God you lot can talk, been away with work and then babysitting the cherub last night and just caught up.
Hugs to Kittins, Thrifty, MG and Fantasia. So strong and brave and fantasia, you did absolutely right.
Well done on your progress Crickett and good news about the drill Cheery!
Ladies I have ace news...I'm getting a freezer tomorrow! I have wanted one for ages but couldnt bring myslef to pay full whack for one, especially as I dont know where I'll be living after October but my friend is getting a new kitchen in and is giving me his old one. This will save me LOADS of money and will encourage me to cook and eat properly. I have eaten a lot of carp lately but once I come back from my next work trip at the beginning of the week I will hopefully have my freezer good to go and can stock it up with good things.
My two friends who were made redundant a few months ago got new jobs together yesterday so one of them is cooking curry and bringing it to mine (my house is always tidy!) tonight and we'll be having a drink or three to celebrate.
Have good days all XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0
