How come you can't buy Borax anymore? I'd tried my local Boots without success, they didn't even have Borax sub :(

I'd LOVE to have a go at soap making (although I get a bit jittery at the thought of caustic soda <insert wimpy icon> :rotfl:). I was always the same in Chemistry, you could guarantee for some reason the minute sulphuric acid was mentioned my hands would tremble LOL The reason I've not had a go (Frugal Queens blog has an excellent tutorial) is I've no where to store the soap whilst it sets and dries out a bit :( My airing cupboard is only one shelf andheaving with bed linen and towels (this is after the declutter I did of it the other week ;))

I "dry" my soap in single layers in plastic roller boxes that slide under the spare bed - mainly because I don't have an airing cupboard, but the room upstairs has got a south facing window and gets quite cosy.

BTW I use caustic soda to de-junk my drains and as long as you are wearing long sleeves and rubber gloves to make your soap you are OK.

DS1 just gave me a row - cos I forgot to tell you that he has planted 30 onion sets in his garden today. He loves onion soup, onion gravy, onion tarte tatin etc so 30 will keep him going for a while.

Just turned around and DS2 is fast asleep on the floor - think we have worn him out again. Better go and throw a blankie on him, but he looks so peaceful I might just go and join him.

Claire - do you have a double or a Kingsize bed???? ........................ only I picked up a double duvet set off the pound rail today in burgundy - a lovely slubbed silk thingie. Wrong colour for me but was only going to chop it up for crafting.

We would of course need photies of your boudoir on the ther side of course LOL

Its a double :) Wow £1 I had a look at duvets etc to cut up too, but they wanted between £4 and £6 in my CS :(.

What was you going to make out of it? cause I could most probably send you a duvet in a different colour in exchange, I put 2 cream and beige sets in the cash for clothing bag but they wouldn't take them so they are sat in my bedroom at the moment.

Happy Monday (can you tell I've got a holiday coming up!) School ok today but had to go for another big meeting with big bosses. Is very weird but I am sure I have met, spoken to and even maybe worked with one of the big bosses before and I have no idea where?! Am reluctant to ask but might have to next time we meet cos it's really bugging me. Was also weird cos she directed most of questions to me not my boss - don't know why and whether this is my bosses way of letting me do stuff or what but I did quite enjoy it and was surprised to find that I did know what I was talking about :p

Was a very positive meeting and big bosses agreed we have potential to move forward so that's all good and will also look good for me in any future career moves.

Less positively my house is a boggin mess and needs a serious sorting out - 15 mins house, 15 mins kids, 15 mins school till I find summat better to do (no tv tonight so got to do something)

    Wooohooooo!!!!!!

Check out my Signature - Yup that's right. The book order for the University has been confirmed and I have them packed and ready to go first thing in the morning. Wholesale rates - but better than a slap in the face with a smoked kipper.

At long last there is some money to help Educate DS1. Of course he will be "responsible" for allocating how to get the best value from his funds - so expect lots of questions for help with travel deals etc.

He will be a very happy bunny in the morning...... and in the meantime, I wonder if a wee martini would be out of the question????

EH just been on the down to earth blog, looks interesting, let me know how you get on with the handmade laundry detergent.

I will do Claire! I will have a go at that one day this week I think - just as soon as I have another 4pt milk bottle ready to use for storing it!

Pleased to hear your news MG - the power of positive vibes strikes again eh?!
