Right, i am declaring it lunch cos I am ravenous! :D

Have not got the 5th section completely written, but I did manage to get all the evidence for it compiled. Trawling through emails from 2008 is not a fun experience, let me tell you! It is about half drafted, and I know what I want to say for the second half, so it shouldn't take long. And I have been fielding calls for three colleagues who are all off today.

So my next challenge is: have a proper lunch break, do a menu for next week's nosh and a shopping list for tonight. Then, until hometime, I am going to complete the 5th section and make a start on the 6th and compile some evidence for that one.

40SM ... instead of a hug, what about some practical thoughts on this afternoon instead. Please take what works for you and leave the rest.

It may be a stupid question but have you worked out why you were so upset? Could it me that Mrs Woman hit a spot that was sensitive from something else (like from the past) - I appreciate she may have just been lording it and there might be no other reason at all...

Does this woman being horrible affect your standing with your boss. If he is mortified, then it sounds like his nearest and dearest overstepped the mark. However, he now is in the very difficult position of maintaining decorum with both of you.

    Could you look at what your ideal solution would be (when I say ideal I mean for you and him), as it is clearly not that you spend the afternoon in tears and he continues to feel uncomfortable; e.g. - You both agree that things got out of hand and you move forwards with a clearer set of rules and boundaries;
    - He and you both understand what Mrs Woman's authority is (I am guessing this is much less than your boss and possibly none at all)

    Northen Lass,

    Thanks for the reply.

Boss's wife is a very difficult person , although I have always got on well with her , up till now. She does not work with us ( thankfully) but just popped in. I Think she has some mental health issues. She sees a conspiracy in everything and thinks the world is out to get her.

I have worked for him for 9 years. I work very hard for him . Always have, always will. I always put in extra hrs to get a job done. Not always easy with 3 young children. He appreciates me , I respect him.

Yesterdays episode started by him saying to her that I "run " the office. He mean't I do most of the work and is a bit stuck sometimes when I am not there. She understood from this that I was actually in charge of the office and all the decisons were down to me ! ( Insert shruggy man) . If I was in charge , he would have spent yesterday submitting 102:eek: P60's on-line , not me;)
She called me a dark horse:eek:. Look at me , so pretty in my jeans( shruggy man) again ! Is she had a supportive husband , like me, she could run an office . !!!!!!!. If it wasn't for me working so hard so that her husband could charge me out at £60 an hr she wouldn't be able to sit at home all day and do well ... complaining. She thinks I have a fabulous life . I don't but I will have.;)

Sorry for the ramble ( again) but you probably have a better picture of what I am dealing with.

Erm... 40sm, I don't think you need to worry about it too much. Bosses wife sounds like a fruit loop, frankly.

Menu almost done. Shopping list is next. Then back to the portfolio. Wow. What a fun day! :D

40SM - Thanks for the explanation ... I tend to agree she has some issues!!! (jealousy, getting back at hubby, bored, unable to do anything useful)

Chin up, keep remembering he would be lost without you

40SM - she's jealous of you. Not an easy one to deal with, all I can suggest is find a way, next time you cross paths with her, of telling her something positive about HER life - even if just "oh, what lovely shoes! I really wish I could wear Wedges/Ankle-Straps/peep-toes but I don't have the Ankles/feet to carry them off as well as you do". Clear the air with your boss immediately - let him know that yes, you were hurt, but no, you understand that it wasn't his fault. That way any awkwardness in the office is diffused in a way that otherwise it may not be, and he has saved face.

    Good luck! xx

I wonder if we have "synchronised"... because I have been the hormonal psycho b!tch from hell this week too... spooky!

Well I haven't been the biatch from hell but the start of the week i was in weepy hormone hell ;) it's either we're all in sync or a phase of the moon ;)

40SM - Hmmmmm sounds like a wee bit of green eye to me. Perhaps she's feeling her life at home isn't all that glam, grass is greener that sort of thing. Not to mention if she's wondering if you're ordering her H around which is probably seen as her domain? OK this could be just pop psychology but that's what I see when I read her comments. If you don't feel the air has been cleared between you and your Boss then I would make that your first priority and perhaps he could request that his wife refrains from popping into the office or indeed speaking to the staff xx

Marru - WOW that's excellent news with Clio, well done and a much needed boost to your confidence. enjoy your new home, can you have a cat there or will you have to just savour the local cats for now?

EH - A very well thought out post :) I do feel uncomfortable when friction rears it's head. I don't wish to jump on the bandwagon and any potential arguments (unless it directly involves me) but I also don't want to pretend it's not happening. I am immensely grateful that we are a bunch of people who can have a difference of opinion without resorting to verbal abuse (like I see on some other boards ).

crickett - well done on your progress :) Glad to see you sounding so upbeat.

kittkins - rest your poorly leg. Hope it's feeling better soon x

Where's the sun gone? It was quite pleasant this morning and it's all clouded over. Still don't want to use up all our summer days during May now do we eh? ;)

woke up this morning still on a positive high from yesterday :o Now if I can get round this week of rubbish sleeping then I would definately feel like I can take on the world :) Here's to next weeks sleep being restful, restorative and most importantly uninterrupted :rotfl:
Bit of housework to complete along with some baking I think, no biccies in the house and shop bought ones might only cost £1 but they don't last very long. Twink hobnobs with chocolate I feel is on the cards :D

have a wonderful day everyone :)

EH thanks for that very well thought out and articulated post. You are right about so many things. I, for one, will say that I have hedged around things. This is usually because I am trying to think of a way of approaching it as articulately as you but by the time I get there the issue is resolved.
That is why I love coming on this thread because unlike some others people do have the ability to say what they think and move it forward in the best way without resorting to insults and abuse.

MG I did, in fact, mean that very man for the course but for some reason I thought he was american. Just read his biog and I think that course looks great too. Wish I was in Glasgow then. I hope that you learn lots from it. Oh and find "the one"

40sm - for us !! When you are back in work this afternoon with the woman who is clearly insecure (remember that) then think of him and forget all else :)
