Jolly well said, EH! And Cheery Daffs earlier."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Different opinions are (I hope) inevitable. Different aspirations and life-styles are GOOD.
Also good is the recognition that we change and so do our opinions and aspirations. If we didn't, we would stagnate and lose all chance of personal growth.
If we all had the same opinions and goals we would by like the Midwich cuckoos - and remember how that ended
I'm heartened by the discussions of the past few days.
Well done to all who took part because it was not easy and it does highlight the care needed in written communication when we don't get body language cues. :T:T:T
PS: Forgot the thank EH for summing it up so well and Cheery for her sheer guts in confronting the issue so well. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Loving all of the talk re men - sorry I missed out. MG I remember that Gabriel Byrne is your fantasy man but your perfect man doesnt have to even be anything like your fantasy man - hence the question. Now my fantasy man would be Robert Downey Jnr but not sure that I could live with him full time.
Sorry there was so much to comment on but as I am woozy I just picked a few bits out.
So sorry to hear you have been poorly. Hope you are feeling better now , sweetie.
I am definetly *with * you on Robert Downey Jnr :drool::drool:

Please can you send healing vibes my way in about 20 minutes as I have to hobble half way across the village to see the doctor about my hurty leg! My car's just been taken off for its vital MOT and service so I have no other way of getting there. Think it'll be a 2-stick job as I'm in pain already
Ouchy! Sending lots of healing vibes your way.;)0 -

Thanks 40sm - a 2 hour round trip for a 5 mins dr appointment where I forgot the main thing I needed (physio referral)
I'm now exhausted and very sore but on the plus side I saw lots of beautiful flowers and blossom, bumped into a few people I know in the village and walked past DD's school and watched her playing with her friends at breaktime
So not all bad....apart from I want to cut my leg off now to stop it hurting, and have to have an X-ray on it on Monday (hope I'm 'safe' to drive as far as the local hospital, I've not ventured that far yet) to make sure I haven't broken it higher up than was x-rayed at the time!!
Anyway, my plans for today are to do some studying for my GCSE, work (although it's nice and quiet so far), attempt to tidy up the kitchen, read and REST, as apparently I can't have enough of that...yawn! I'll keep quiet about the fact that I've arranged a big picnic with friends and kids in the park tomorrow....
I'm also re-reading a couple of books - "Why am I so disorganised" which is fabulous and gives me a kick up the bahookie and researching vegan cake recipes nomnomnom0 -
Morning Matrix,
Just lost a very long post where I was requesting some positive vibes for this afternoon. Probably just as well as I was feeling a bit sorry for myself . The Universe deleted my post on purpose !
Briefly, my boss' wife was really horrible to me yesterday, for no real reason:(. She is a bit emotionally unstable but still. I left the office in tears and cried all the way home ( 25 mins Drive).
Boss is mortified . Don't know who I feel more sorry for , him or me!. I really don't want there to be an atmosphere because I will just feel sorry for him and cry ( again).
I am making myself sound like a wimp but I really don't do confrontations or arguements ( apart from immediate family;)) , so yesterday my gob was well & truly smacked.:(
Sorry for the ramble . Postive vibes will be gratefully received.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
