if you bother too read them you wont have a problem!

    Sums it up well .
  • We should all know the Ryanair fiasco so it is our our fault if we fall foul of it . I feel sorry for outsiders who book with them expecting a normal commercial operation. Perhaps their website should have a home page that at the front, in large, states that before booking it is essential that a customer ? should read all the very nasty terms and conditions and not take for granted any goodwill they might otherwise expect from an operator.
I am certain many would be prepared to submit their suggested list to Ryanair if it would help.

    Ryanair:

    Industry-leading safety records
    Best on-time statistics
"Greenest" fleet within the industry (debatable)
    The fastest check-in processes
    Lowest prices

I would hazard a guess that 99.999% of customer service problems are caused by people who don't understand the T&Cs or don't read them. So he (O'Leary) treats customers with contempt? Rightly so, if you want to keep prices as low as Ryanair you need to be ruthless. It's O'Leary's attitude and acumen that make them as successful as they are.

I laugh every time somebody books a £9.99 flight to Paris, doesn't check-in properly, then complains about poor service.

You will never ever get an airline so cheap, so efficient and so safe by pandering to stupid people who messed up with their boarding pass etc.

They deserve praise because they do *exactly* as they set out to do. If you want to feel like a "special" customer then simply pay 10x as much and fly with somebody else.

Had to laugh when at Gatwick on Friday . Ryanair check in supervisor addressed the assembled passengers thus.
The maximum cabin bag size is 55cm x 40cm x 20cm and to check it you have to put your case into this gauge frame to ensure it fits. I have here a box to this exact size and you have to prove yours like this (demonstrates putting the box into the gauge frame) However the box would not go into the frame. Either the box was too big or frame too small. Ryanair employee took a torrent of abuse.
May be worth keeping a steel tape measure in your pocket in case you encounter a smaller than should be gauge frame. Not beyond them slipping some undersize ones in .

I can't believe this debate is still going on! This debate was never about the practices of Ryanair, the OP simpily posted a message saying they received good value for money from Ryanair and a good service. I accept (although don't agree with) Shipshapes comments and I can see where he is coming from but some people on here are moving the debate on to completely new areas! Frankly any argument against Ryanair that references as an example "come fly with me" (one of the worst least intelligent pieces of TV I have ever seen) doesn't merit rebutall. My worry is that nobody will ever praise companies again on this board because of the grief they get!

I really must praise RA, having just checked for a flight down to Spain (Reus) for May. :T

£24 return, unbelievable value and only three weeks away.

The bargain flights are still about
    a big thank you Michael.

There is no such thing as bad publicity Mr O'Leary is doubtless wearing a big grin as another million goes on the left hand column of his balance sheet.
To the pleb traveler however what matters is information and a posting such as this thread will inform of what to expect from his ticket the pitfalls to avoid and the direction the next scam is coming from . Knowledge is power (Sir Francis Bacon)

I had to laugh too at that story :p

It might actually show that someone at Ryanair has a heart - The one that allowed some leaway in designing the box perhaps ?

I always reckoned that the frame designer had a heart too - because you can actually jam all sorts of flexible shapes into that frame.

I am sure that includes Ryanair cardboard boxes too but first perhaps you need to set yourself into another frame i.e. the correct MSE "For forty quid I will prove I can get this into that damned thing even if I have to break something" frame of mind :money:

Clearly the poor thing hesitated and it became abundantly clear that she hadn't actually put her heart into it :D
