The OP has had a good experience

Thats all we need to know. Last week I flew Easy Jet, service was good ( yes they got me from A to B ) at the cheapest I could find.

I'm not rude and I am being civil regarding this thread as I just don't understand why praise is given for something you pay for anyway?

The OP was warned by "everyone" of problems using RA and getting a cheap flight.

The OP encountered no such thing and was pleased with his cheap flight.

    That`s it.

Would I phone and congratulate British Gas for providing me with gas for the past year simply because I bought it off them and, guess what, they gave it to me?

Catching a bus gets me from A to B, why would I start a thread to praise a bus company that took me from one stop and dropped me off at another stop some 3 miles away? Just like with a flight, I'd expect to get to where I have paid for, why wouldn't I?

And your examples of a meal, haircut or holiday destination are just not comparable to having a flight somewhere!

On a plane I'm going to book in, get my seat, be up in the air for a while and then get off the plane to where I'm going to!

All planes do that! It's what they do!

Restaurants offer differing quality and you pay for it. Did you know a good italian will be more expensive than a pizza parlour?

I'm not thanking ASDA for selling cheaper fuel than elsewhere, I'm thanking myself for seeking out the cheapest fuel and buying what I pay for and getting what I pay for!

I'm not saying you are rude on this thread as you have been perfectly civil, however I do believe it is rude to deny a company praise for the sole reason that you have paid for the service so you expect a good service.

The OP isn't phoning up Ryanair to congratulate them, they are simply posting a thread praising the service that they received. I really don't understand why you are so against praising companies for providing a good deal and a good service. Many, many people post complaints about Ryanair so it is only right that good experiences should also be reported on.

Its not just restaurants that offer differing quality, every company does, therefore my examples are perfectly comparable. If you pay for a ryanair flight you do not expect to receive the same experience and quality of service that you would do on a more expensive BA flight. However the OP has received a standard of service that they find comparable with all other "Normal" airlines. Therefore they have posted a thread praising this. However you have taken exception to this which I find suprising?

If you went to a pizza parlour and paid less for a meal and yet received a quality of service and food that rivaled a more expensive italian restaurant that would be worthy of praise.

Yes, but I have read 'problems' with RA that were nothing of the sort, for example, how on earth could any airline be blamed for bad weather?

Look, I can understand if I were to buy, say, a DVD player from Currys with cash and lost the receipt and took it back 3 months later and they exchanged it without hesitation. Worthy of praise.

I just can't see how one would praise an airline for doing what you have paid it to do, regardless of the price.

Had I flown with RA to get me to Spain but, in addition, they manicured my feet and fed me grapes during the flight, then I'd praise them.

But if they provided me with exactly what I paid for, a seat on a plane to get me somewhere, then I'm getting what I should be getting!

The OP's experience is neither good nor bad, it's what it is, a flight provided in a satisfactory and acceptable way.

    Hardly praise worthy.

The OP thought it worthy of praise.

You seemed to be arguing about nothing.

Three weeks ago I had a £10 return (total price) flight to Spain.(Reus)
The flight was on time both ways and the cabin crew were as good as any other I`ve flown with.

and I can`t praise RA highly enough for this dirt cheap, bargain flight. :T

Did a cheapo holiday to Gran Canaria last week, flew with Ryanair, everyone warned me of the problems etc. but we made sure our carry on bags were right size and weight, the hold luggage was right weight, so had no problems at all, was just a normal flight, cabin crew were no different to any other NORMAL flight. Flights were on time etc. If I had any complaint at all, the seats were a bit hard, so 4 hours was quite long enough!!
Were you charged anything to use the loo, or surcharged to use the steps rather than the free trampoline to board the aircraft?

But I'm not even expecting a good service, I'm just expecting what I should get, a flight that gets me where I want to go, that's acceptable to me, not a particularly 'good' service.

The OP isn't phoning up Ryanair to congratulate them, they are simply posting a thread praising the service that they received.

But what service other than what they should have expected anyway deserves a praise? Would I praise a shelf stacker in Tesco whilst on my next shop because they are doing their job and I can get what I want?

I really don't understand why you are so against praising companies for providing a good deal and a good service.

This is my point, it is not a particularly good service, it is a service one would expect anyway, one is simply being transported on a plane. That's acceptable, hardly good with praise.

I think praise should be handed out to those companies who actually do a 'good' job which I class as beyond what one would expect.

TalkTalk receive awful feedback yet I have been a customer for 10 years. Only recently I had a bad experience where they took out my direct debit early and caused a whole heap of trouble including my reciving bank charges.

I complained and was reimbursed to the tune of 3 times my financial loss and a written apology. They more than righted their wrong.

I have always had an acceptable service from them, as I get a phone line & broadband, and get what I pay for, what I expect.

Yet now I rate TalkTalk as 'good or even excellent' as they have corrected a wrong brilliant manner.

Praise is earnt, not given just for getting what one pays for anyway.

    Absolutely agree!!

But explain to me what RA have done over and above what they were paid to do in the first place in comparison to, say, BA, who may have been £50 more a flight?

But you paid for a flight and it just so happened to be £10 return.

    Big woof.

What if in reality RA had budgeted for your seat to have been empty anyway and still make a profit on the whole flight? Your £10 just increases that profit, however small that is.

Regardless of what you pay, you still expect to get to where you wanted to go with RA and they did it.

So what? You still paid for that transportation. You don't expect to be treated rudely by cabin crew because your seat was cheaper than the chap next to you who may have paid £200!

And why you comment on cabin crew being as good as any I don't know, one trolly dolly is just like another.

Like burger flippers, some smile, others don't. So long as the burger you buy does the job who cares?

Would you really have been upset if your cabin crew attendant were not as good as any other? Whatever that means!

Might it mean that the trolley dolly was less easy to return to the upright position?
