Praise for Ryanair - yes honestly!!

Did a cheapo holiday to Gran Canaria last week, flew with Ryanair, everyone warned me of the problems etc. but we made sure our carry on bags were right size and weight, the hold luggage was right weight, so had no problems at all, was just a normal flight, cabin crew were no different to any other NORMAL flight. Flights were on time etc. If I had any complaint at all, the seats were a bit hard, so 4 hours was quite long enough!!

Will use again.

Nice to hear you had a decent flight! I don't think anyone would dispute that you *can* have a good deal from them, it's just that if things go wrong they couldn't be less interested in helping you. And when you see their bad side, frankly you never fly with them again...

May you long continue to see their good side and enjoy their service! :-)

The main reason people encounter problems with RA is because they don`t read the T & C`s.

Three weeks ago I had a £10 return (total price) flight to Spain.(Reus)
The flight was on time both ways and the cabin crew were as good as any other I`ve flown with.

RA website is full of information, trouble is people don`t read it.

Is that a pig I see flying up there in economy?

But why 'praise' a company just for simply getting what you paid for in the first place?

I wouldn't praise ASDA for giving me £10 fuel when I put £10 fuel in my car.

They are a great ,follows the simple rules and there should not be any problems . Passengers should also take out adequate insurance so if something does go wrong then you are then covered .

Yes but you would praise Asda if you got £10 of fuel in your car but only paid £1. I believe the OP's praise is directed at the fact that Ryanair have offered them a very good service that is comparable to other airlines at a fraction of the cost.

Hmmm, maybe we should wait for the OP to confirm your belief?

However, my point is that the OP paid for a flight to get from A to B and, heyho, he got from A to B.

I could have bought fuel at £1.36 a litre at ASDA instead of paying £1.48 a litre at a BP station.

I should praise myself for sourcing a cheaper option rather than praising ASDA for giving me what I paid for in the first place!

I could rant about ASDA if I pay £10 for fuel but only get £2 worth yet still charged for it, but why praise for something that one pays for anyway which just happens, (maybe), to be cheaper than others offered?

    I don't get it.

I don't really understand where you are coming from here. The OP has had a good experience with Ryanair and you seem upset that they are praising this just because they have paid for the flight? Would you also object if the OP had praised a meal in a restaurant, a holiday destination or a haircut? All these things are paid for so by your logic praise is not entilted because you expect it to be good as you have paid for the service. It seems like you may be a very rude person if you don't praise people or services because you expect them to be good just because you have paid the advertised price?

On the petrol example I believe if Asda are selling petrol at 12 pence a litre less than a major competitor than they would be entitled to some praise for that! They have provided the product significantly cheaper than their rivals so why you would be entitled to praise for just visiting their forecourt is beyond me!

I'm not rude and I am being civil regarding this thread as I just don't understand why praise is given for something you pay for anyway?

Would I phone and congratulate British Gas for providing me with gas for the past year simply because I bought it off them and, guess what, they gave it to me?

Catching a bus gets me from A to B, why would I start a thread to praise a bus company that took me from one stop and dropped me off at another stop some 3 miles away? Just like with a flight, I'd expect to get to where I have paid for, why wouldn't I?

And your examples of a meal, haircut or holiday destination are just not comparable to having a flight somewhere!

On a plane I'm going to book in, get my seat, be up in the air for a while and then get off the plane to where I'm going to!

All planes do that! It's what they do!

Restaurants offer differing quality and you pay for it. Did you know a good italian will be more expensive than a pizza parlour?

I'm not thanking ASDA for selling cheaper fuel than elsewhere, I'm thanking myself for seeking out the cheapest fuel and buying what I pay for and getting what I pay for!
