Praise for Ryanair - yes honestly!!

I really don't understand why you are so against praising companies for providing a good deal and a good service.
Thats the way I'm seeing the objection as well. I think some people like looking for faults and looking for things to go wrong, watching Watchdog is also probably the highlight of their week!0

"But explain to me what RA have done over and above what they were paid to do in the first place in comparison to, say, BA, who may have been £50 more a flight?"
Ryanair have provided the same level of service as a "normal" airline e.g. BA at a cheaper price. Therefore the OP believe's they deserves praise for that. You however don't! Personally I welcome stories of good consumer experiences as I don't like the current trend that appears to be one complaint after another!
In your example Talk Talk, made a mistake and caused you issues yet you praise them for fixing you complaint in a satisfactory manner. However a company that never made the mistake in the first place would not be praised by you? Do you not see the contradiction in that you don't praise a company that provides a good level of service but you do praise a company that fixes the fact they messed everything up!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Very well put - after all, this is a moneysaving website!
I have just booked a return to Seville for £12. The equivalent fare on BA would have been fifteen times that amount, plus an additional four hours to the airport. If I receive the same experience from Ryanair with such a massive price differential, I think that is worthy of praise.Money_User wrote: »He's probably watching his best of Watchdog 2010 dvd all afternoon and will respond later. :rotfl:

And you are missing the entire point, as are others.

Regardless of what you payed, RA accepted that fee to provide the service paid for!
Evidently, RA have provided that service. You received what you paid for!!

This is satisfactory, this is acceptable.

To then describe it as a 'good service' is over the top. The price was good, excellent even, but the service provided was no more than what one would expect, they had to transport you anyway!
Ryan Air do not single out people just like you and the OP and only sell you tickets at amazingly low prices!

It is what they do! It is about being able to travel from the right place, at the right time to go to the right place when cheap tickets are available.

RA are a business and it obviously pays them to offer some tickets at ridiculous prices, why else do it?
They are also a business that charges scandlous fees like direct debit charges that bear no resemblance to what it costs them to administer.

If one is fortunate to get such a cheap ticket then bully for you.

However, whatever price you pay RA are obliged to provide what you paid for, by law!

I'm just astonished that people seem to think this is a 'good service' when it is what should be provided in any case, even if the ticket was a penny!

RA are a scandal where almost all passengers are over-charged in order to make a profit and also to offer cheap flights to the gullible who are unable to see the wood for the trees.

 Very effective though.
But a company offering a 'good service?' Give me a break!
 Perfect!
 You silly little winker.

No, I'd rather congratulate myself for sourcing a cheaper flight.
In your example Talk Talk, made a mistake and caused you issues yet you praise them for fixing you complaint in a satisfactory manner.
No, I praised them for fixing my complaint in an excellent manner, not satisfactorily, they were always satisfactory.
However a company that never made the mistake in the first place would not be praised by you?
No, why would I? I pay for something, I get it, end of. They have done what I have paid for. Why would I put out bunting & hold a street party just because big business give me what I pay for as per contract, as per law?
I am satisfied, I don't have a sense of feeling good particularly.
Do you not see the contradiction in that you don't praise a company that provides a good level of service but you do praise a company that fixes the fact they messed everything up!
 No I don't actually.
If I am provided with a service that does what it is supposed to do for which I have paid why would I feel euphoria rather than being satisfied?
And anyone can make a mistake. TalkTalk did, in fact legally they did not but they did admit they could have done better, and they compensated me 3 times over.
I have always been satisfied with their service and impressed that they were so good on righting a wrong without haste.
I have gone from being satisfied to being impressed.
However, if RA flew me somewhere I'd be satisfied that they did what they should have.
 I wouldn't be impressed.
 Why can't you see that?0
