Scales still said 20 stone 10 this morning which I'm quite pleased with. Expected it to have gone up slightly in it's usual rollercoaster fashion. Food intake still sensible. No alcohol taken, no junk food.0

As I thought the daily weigh-ins have shown up and down fluctuations all week but they're heading downwards generally. This morning was 20 stone 8 pounds, lowest reading since the chronicles began.

That's a great start Grey Pilgrim, good on you! I'm so enjoying reading this thread.

I'll just pass on a tip that worked very well for me - if I desperately want to eat something that I know I shouldn't really be eating, I will allow myself to eat it, but only if I eat an apple (could substitute any other fruit/veg etc) and have a glass of water first. If after eating the apple & drinking the water, I still desperately want it, I'll have it. About 75% of the time I am no longer craving it so I don't bother - the other 25% of the time, I allow myself to eat it, with no feelings of guilt whatsoever, and I damn well enjoy it!
Hence no feelings of deprivation, plus it boosts my fruit & veg intake!
Edit: I should add I lost well over a stone before getting pregnant using just this method and nothing else, although my general diet was reasonably healthy, and I did exercise moderately.
Good luck xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Good tip Snaggles - think I might try that myself - but AFTER Christmas.
Well done GP on the positive 'LARD LOSS'.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks Rog - have found out a rather shocking thing about alcohol too - it's not very good for you  :rotfl:
Since being pregnant and giving up alcohol, I have continued to lose weight despite getting more 'bumpy' by the day. Admittedly this was more due to the morning sickness in the early weeks, but now that has settled, the only real change to my diet has been cutting out alcohol, and I can only assume that is the reason I am losing weight!
Who knew????
(Don't worry, I'm not actually trying to lose weight whilst pregnant, and I have checked that there is no medical reason for the weight loss!)"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Are you sure, Snaggles? I find that a bit of a hard one to swallow. :beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

this is similar to what I do with alcohol (well most of the time). I'm trying not to have any most evenings now but it's difficult over Xmas & the New Year, so if I do decide to drink I have to start with three glasses of fizzy water and then if I'm being really strict with myself have one or two glasses of water in between glasses of wine. It works!!! Half the time when I think I want alcohol I'm just thirsty anyway, I reckon0 -
Once i sortt my debt's im going to join you on this one! (although the amount im cutting back on food it might be sooner!)
Remember, muscle burns calories faster, so trying to build a little muscle rather than just aerobic exercise should bring faster results (although muscle weighs more than fat... it is a whole lot healthier)
Beer bad - spirits with light mixers good. I find a vokda and tonic (80 cals) isn't too sweet so you drink it slower.0 -
I know!! You could have blown me down with a feather (or whatever the expression is) lol! :rotfl:rog2 wrote:Are you sure, Snaggles? I find that a bit of a hard one to swallow."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
