None left in John Lewis at the Trafford Centre, they had ran out by the time I got there (around 12). Said it was due to Martin Lewis on TV

So what if you're a regular origins customer? I'm a regular clinique customer, but that doesn't mean I begrudge others for taking advantage of their special offers.
alias the hoard of (free loaders seems to have been blanked out) who dont buy Origins and want something for nothing is not really fair and all down to Mr MSE tbh..

As an Origins customer and subscriber I had heard of this offer a long time ago and had made plans to take advantage of this reward for my custom and environmental concern. Mr Lewis goes on tv and millions of low rent Daybreak customers overrun the stores. These sort of ppl are just going for something because its free whether they want it or will need or use it.

As i said sorry. I'm a huge fan of :money:normally but today he gets the thumbs down.

It seems to me that this isn't the case...

If Origins had intended the promotion to reward their regular customers... they would have simply stipulated that the product to be handed in for the free cleanser must be an empty Origins product... since they didn't, one assumes it is an attempt to widen their customer base to people who don't regularly buy their products.
moromir not quite.. they often do offers like that its in order to promote recycling..

they did have enough to last for a couple of days; that's until 5.9 million people received an email.

well done to those who got one!

    :T

And a load of people saw Martin on the tv this morning telling everyone about it.

anyone reckon theyr gona get any more of these origin products in? can u just exchange any facial cleanser product to qualify??

I don't think they'll get more. Origins isn't a huge brand like Clinique/Clarins. They probably can't afford to give out loads of free stuff.

It was originally meant to be on just tomorrow but for some reason they started it today instead to run ( 'supposedly' ) for 2 days

Maybe because tomorrow is Good Friday and some shops would be doing Sunday hours they extended it to today as well.

Origins really shouldn't moan about TV coverage. Loads of brands would be delighted to get a mention on tv.

Thanks Mr Lewis - NOT!Sorry I'm normally a big fan of you but thanks to you putting it on tv us regular Origins users who had planned to take advantage of this deal are not unable to. I am sure origins intended their regular customers to be rewarded..

Most of the 5 million + live nowhere near an Origins counter.
My nearest is 45 miles away, despite there being a large Boots and a large Debenhams in my home town.

Ok but thats still open ended, they want to promote recycling is not the same as they only want to encourage their existing client base to recycle, and therein lies the big difference.

I understand people are disappointed but their disappointment should be firmly at the door of Origins who failed to make sure that only current customers could benefit (if that was ever their intention), not MSE.

I wish I would have checked the board before we trooped into JL Oxford Street after work...could have saved that hassle. :(

If Origins were contacted in advance by MSE (which it sounds like they were) to enquire about quantities - and they assured MSE that there was plenty and they wouldn't run out before Friday...what is it that Origins thought would happen if MSE was contacting them about it?

I don't begrudge anyone who got theirs...I'm a big fan of Checks and Balances and was super excited about this...I'm sad I missed out but for those who were quicker then I'm happy for them. Except those who only got the freebies to sell them...them I'm not terribly happy with. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Thanks guys, it was a nice bonus to come back to this and find it had been useful after all :)

And I would think that if origins are proud of their products then it's a good idea for them to distribute them beyond their normal customer base. The main reason I started buying origins products was because a friend gave me an origins set for christmas and I really liked it. I suspect some of those who get the freebie cleanser will come back for more. So it will be worthwhile for them in the end.

Obviously a bummer for regular origins fans (like me!!) who haven't managed to get it though :)
