I think these organisations that try to get maximum publicity for minimum effort get their just deserts, in the end.
The fact is, once you have been made distrustful of a brand, you won't use it, you vote with your feet - and THAT can be very powerful.
Look at Hoover and the free flights fiasco. They don't sell many vacuum cleaners these days, do they?
I think Origins is over-priced and too hard-sell, anyway. It's all part of the huge Estee Lauder American cosmetics empire - and has very little to do with the homely, natural/organic image.
It's like L'Oreal pretending they are Liz Earle!0 -

I am disappointed at the poor judgement shown in publicising this offer without concern for the the supply- the email was a mistake I think. But also it would be better if people could be more philosophical about things that are obviously not the sales assistant's fault- and in a department store she can't get anyone to make another offer to compensate, she's on her own there employed by Origins I suppose. Shame.
I agree that people should not have taken it out on the sales assitants but Martin's Facebook post does imply that Origins were warned the sort of numbers to expect.
And sarah*a - thank you for your post - I was thinking the same about the press office's handling of the promo and MSE enquiry.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

At the Croydon branch on Friday there was NO-ONE on the Origins counter at all ... They probably couldn't cope with all the stress and abuse either!!!0
