Welcome to MSE. It'll be better to create a seperate, new thread
  • OK - Thanks will do!
  • Hello, am new to this so unsure of how to post a new thread but am needing a bit of help.

I purchased some raceday tickets via the Jockey Club and opted for royal mail postage - it does say this method is at the buyers risk (but it doesn't say what the risk is)

The tickets have never arrived and now they are saying there is nothing they can do .. surely I have some consumer rights in getting the tickets reprinted at the ground if I take my booking confirmation, ID and card paid with??

Please help - the races are this Saturday and it was over £80.

The retailer is responsible for getting the tickets to you, as they have failed in doing this, they must put it right. If they have failed to insure them, that it there issue, not yours.

I would contact them and advise that they are in breach of the contract and they must put right the issue. Due to the timings, you may be better off buying new tickets and claiming the original costs of the initial tickets back from them.

And if the replacement tickets are more expensive (for the same access classification) then claim the additional costs too. :)

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy 3 Tablet from a Tesco Store on 14th May 2014. Yesterday 18th June it stopped working unless the charger was plugged in. I returned it, with receipt and box to Tesco who put me through to their Technical Support on the phone but were unable to offer a fix solution, they then put me through to Samsung who say it needs to be returned for repair. I don't want it repaired I want it replaced in store. What are my rights?

You have a right to a repair, a replacement or a refund. Unfortunately (for you) the choice of remedy is up to the retailer.

Thank you for replying. I thought it might come under "last a reasonable length of time", I don't think 41/2 weeks is a reasonable length of time! It is also very bad PR on behalf of Tesco.

Please let me know if I need to post a new thread....

I bought a new Vango tent 3 weeks ago and tested pitching it for the first time last night. It went up like a dream (it's the airbeam) but when I went inside to check it out there is a large black stain right next to the main door in and out of the tent. The tent is green and it sticks out like a sore thumb :(

I have contacted the company I bought it from and they said they will have to send it off to the manufacturer to be inspected. This can take 2/3 weeks.

We are supposed to be camping in 2 weeks.

I am not happy. All that money and it's not of reasonable quality (in my opinion).

Do we have the right to demand a full refund - so I can buy another one quickly or are they well within their rights even though I have never used it.

They are (IMO) fobbing you off with this. While it is 'fit for purpose' it's not as described and they could be repairing (unlikely they could do this) replacing or refunding.

This is a link to a guide outlining the Sale of Goods Act (SoGA)

    http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/sale-of-goods-act

You're well within time to reject the Goods and get a full refund under SOGA.
