Hi all I hope you can help me.
I bought my daughter an iPad at the start of 2017. The battery has been confirmed as faulty by apple and have said that currys should replace under consumer law. After 8 weeks of being ignored and constantly calling they are offering £108 of vouchers to use in store or the same in cash but I need to return the faulty iPad. Apple have said they will replace for £80ish so I was hoping to do this with the part refund from currys but they refuse to let me keep the faulty item. Does anyone know where I stand with this please. Thanks
You can't keep the item and the money, if they refund you it legally belongs to them0 -
Hi!
I bought a two colours Tv unit from wayfair. Only after I have assembled it, I realised it was not as described. It was the same colours, but they where swapped around ( there are two tones of white ). I do not like it as it is because it s too much plain white and only little of the other tone ( wood like effect white). I have contacted them but they said I cannot return it as I have assembled it and they can only offer like an incentive. Where do I stand with this as I want to return it and get a replacement or a refund? Thank you!0 -
You can't really go by the colours on a website, 2 tone white would be hard to establish whats what.
You may need to add photos of both the websites picture and your own to see if it's a glaring mistake or not.
Building it however doesn't necessarily mean it can't be returned but they are allowed to deduct up to 100% of the refund if your handling goes beyond whats reasonable. Not sure how you judge a TV unit without building it though.
You hope is not as described.0 -
The tones are really different so you can tell which is which. One is plain white and the other is sort of grey colour wood effect I have images but the forum would not let me post links.
Thank you!0 -
Hi there.
On 25.10.2018, my husband bought a pair of £140 Dr Marten boots for my birthday. He bought a size 6 which is usually my size however due to these boots having fur lining, they were too tight.
On 17.11.2018 my husband went back to the store and exchanged the boots for a size 7 however when he gave them to me, I could see they had clearly been worn by someone else and not brand new!
They could not be returned immediately as my husband and I went on holiday for 2 weeks from 19.11.18 - 03.12.18.
On 08.12.18, I visited my local Schuh store again to exchange the boots (3rd pair now).
This time the store didn't have any
in stock so ordered another pair for me and arranged to have them delivered to my work address.
They arrived about a week later however the 4th pair had water marks on them and white dried glue spilling from the side of one of the boots so again these needed to be returned.
I completed the returns form, packed the boots back into their original box, placed the returns label on the front of the parcel and on 20.12.18, I took them to my local post office to be informed it was NOT free to return to Schuh but would in fact cost me £21.00 to return them by post.
I said I would visit Schuh AGAIN and return them for free instead.
I popped the boots into the boot of my car with the intention of returning them AGAIN however little did I know I'd never see them again. My car was broken into and a few bits and pieces including the boots were stolen.
I have found this entire experience to be frustrating and its left me really quite angry.
I am now without boots, my husband is £140 out of pocket, and that's not including time wasted and money spent for petrol and multi story carparking costs for having to visit the Schuh store multiple times.
I realise my car getting broken into is not anyones fault however had Schuh's QUALITY CHECKS been carried out properly, none of this would ever have happened.
Do I have any rights?0 -
Your rights are against the car thieves .
You cannot return something you dont have.
But i would send a nice letter to Schuh pointing out whats happened .0 -
Hi Squeaky,
Forgive me if I’m in the wrong place or have the etiquette wrong.
Signed the kids up for Ju jitsu lessons on a rolling contract. Signed it at the dojo didn’t think any more of it. A year later wanted to leave. Turns out a company called Nest management runs it. I expected to give a months notice and pay for the last month. They want two. I don’t think this is normal, fair, or reasonable ie: consumer rights act 2015.
Thoughts?
Thanks

My son bought a Google Pixle XL mobile phone on contract, over the first 8 months of the contract the first phone was replaced due to a faulty microphone, the second phone the circuit board went faulty with the phone over heating (loss of use over 30 days), the third phone which my son received worked perfectly and we went on holiday a month later andthe family got caught in a tropical storm (drenched) his phone like everyone else was in his pocket but stopped working later that night.
According to the information on the Google Pixle XL it is IP53 compliant which should mean it can withstand being rained on but is not submergible which I feel they are incorrect
My son has contacted the normal Google Support and the Mobiles.co.uk (were it took the contract out) but as expected they have declined to fix it.
So does he have any recourse based on the IP53 rating or is this a throw away and start again.
Thanks0
