That's a start. So it's a matter of taking the HDD out, placing it in a caddy, using it an an external HDD in order to retrieve your info, then placing it back into the offending machine and running eRecovery to restore to factory Default.

The other thing you could do is to call ACER and ask them if there is an option to change the configuration in the BIOS.
  • Right. If you give me a little list of things to get on my oldold pc so I make it safe I have to buy that caddy thing right (which I assume will take a few days I assume) tho if I could get one from a shop I will.

Then we can do that thing and see what happens. I will try finding a number for acer tomorrow. Wanna stop there for the day? :)

The caddy is cheaper online, so use that link or similar. I'll investigate the BIOS a little longer. Everyone's asleep...including the cat....but I have to put him outside before I go to bed. He has a shed in the garden. :) Later then.
  • Thank you for staying up with me :) I shall look online tomorrow. Sleep well :)
  • Have ordered the caddy from ebay that you linked me to. You ok for me to get back to you when it comes to protect my older computer before I do anything? :)
