Just give it up for today, there is a pic of what happens with the ubuntu in the same place as before. we can pick it up again tomorrow but if you have instructions or whatever then feel free to post them and ill try first thing (its like 2:30 in the morning now so giving it up as a bad job for the day)

thanks for all the help. hope we can at least get my data tomorrow if nothing else :)

Are you sure that you are putting the correct time when you boot up the Recovery Disc? Seems you are snoozing. Can take up the baton again tomorrow. ;)

I think we should just do the data thing, as it less complicated remotely. Seems the virus has tampered with your Registry.

Make up your own Ubuntu disc as indicated above. We'll have a go at that tomorrow, girlfriend permitting. :)
  • I don't get a choice for time with the windows recovery. Just to choose English UK that's all. For three boxes like in those instructions you gave me (which were Awesome btw :) ) but yeah no option for me to type time or change time or anything. Kepp chosing UK cos that's where I am. How come it matters? (And how did you find it anyways lol)

Yeppa getting a bit sleepy. In three hours I will have been awake an entire day :) :O.

Seriously if you would help me again tomorro that would be awesome. Maybe we should just get the data and wipe the entire HD after that. Might be easier in long run (tho I'm kinda curious as to why ubuntu wouldn't work and what the hell happened to my pc in the first place) whoa long post. Ok stopping now.
  • K I wrote that at the same time as you and oh god of course. Real life girlfriend owns crazy broken computer internet person. :)
  • Ready when you are. Still no safe mode luck.

Want to check. Try the Recovery Disc without loading the Drivers. Command Prompt appear this time?
