Ugh we come back to the cannot find live thing again when I press that. I can get the screen back up and there are some options I can change but I don't know if it will help0

I wonder if it worth using an older version.
Anyway, let us HBD to run a Malware scan.
From the link in post #139:
Mini Windows XP
To clear a virus and use a large collection of Hiren's Boot tools, choose the Mini Windows XP option. A simple version of Windows XP will load on the computer. It might take a few minutes to load everything because it processes files directly from the CD. Once it has loaded, wait for the Hiren's Boot disk menu to pop up. Select the "Menu" option and scroll through the programs. The disk features Windows password hackers, registry cleaners and a large collection of antivirus software.
So boot up with the disc and choose Mini Windows XP.0 -
Right done that. Its loading mini xp do I just put the files I want onto my external HD now??
Oh. My files aren't on there haha. Ugh I'm such a dunce. No idea what I'm doing0 -
It may be possible that you can 'mount' your hard drive from within Mini Windows XP and to have access to your files. Can't talk you through it, as it would mean that I would have to fire up a test machine. I have company.
I can get away with it as I have a wireless keyboard and can write to you discreetly.0 -
Aah don't worry. I can later google how to 'mount' a harddrive in hirens boot cd can't I
I assume it'll use the command prompt and don't worry cos you're like the most helpful person I've ever met
ill have to wait till room clears out. Parents have company party. I'm hiding upstairs haha. I can just leave cpu on the mini xp desktop with no issues I hope.
Thanks0 -
Actually you may just be able to navigate to it within the Mini XP interface. Have you taken a look around?0
