Clippy means business! Third time lucky!

hello all!

i have decided to start a new diary again...third time lucky i hope! decided to start again as i have lost my way a bit and despite paying lots off i have added to the debt again! lots of this has been for house but not all! problem is i keep buying what i need for house and forgetting i need to pay for it all! so from now on i need to prioritise and buy stuff from weekly spends for house. dont need anymore furniture so paint, pictures etc... should be able to be bought from this.

so, i am getting a payrise next month :j:T and its backdated from sept (about £1200) this means that my wages will now be enough to cover all bills, food, petrol, weekly spends etc... they will just cover them so not really any left afterwards. i will be getting my wages in my new account so this can be quite self-contained and if there is a few quid left i will transfer it out each month.

this means that the rent i get from my lodger (£340) can be paid into other account along with mystery shopping money. this can all be used for debt repayments.

MS money varries, i have set a target of £250 per month but this month i made £550! :j:money:

so the debts are-

dad loan 1- £4700 (pay £188 per month atm, interest free)
dad loan 2- £1000 interest free
credit card- £856 not interest free
overdraft- £580 (£500 interest free)
mum- £40145, interest free

total £11,151 :eek::eek:

was meant to repay dad loan 2 today when i was paid but my payrise is not going through. feel bad bout this as promised would be cleared now. dad is ok but wants what money i can give him. this is getting cleared first.

next up is credit card then overdraft

then £400 to go into savings (£250 holiday and £150 for home insurance)

then dad loan one (£188 continued to be paid during above)

then mum

so i am switching banks accounts atm so want to transfer over all money needed for rest of month to new account and aim to keep overdraft at £600. this means i have £200 free incase anything comes out of old account that shouldnt do.

so as this is where i am at now, plan is to pay dad each time i get £200 into account throughout month. MS money is paid at different times by different co's throughout month but this is the plan.

on may pay day i will have repaid dad in full and would also like to clear credit card. overdraft can stay the same. i will do this using MS money throught the month and the extra pay in may.

started month off well by paying dad £200 using some overtime i got and have had a NSD :)

got a bit enthusiastic earlier so stripped one whole side of doorframe using stripper gun in preparation for decorating at weekend. the doorframe is where the extension is so its really wide and is made of solid wood. unfortunately its cracked and where house has moved at some point (eek!) IS NOE 1cm wide at one point. so need to fill this in.

decorating should be cheap. need white paint but will get from asda as only £4 (using weekly spends of course :P ) might need gloss and cream paint but should not be much (again from weekly spends) friend coming over sat instead of going out so dont need to spemd on anything else.

Good luck on the third attempt Clippy. Its so easy to just spend money on house stuff without realising just how much you're spending isnt it!

Possibly the same time as you and Mr GG accidentally bought a house.... ;)

ok so not a NSD day today as spent £10 in homebase buying pot of filler and tube of ready mixed grout (what a rip off... nearly £5 and i only need a pea sized bit to fix a crack!). decided to grow some potatoes in garden as well in one of my beds as most of lavender appears bed on one side so will transfer live ones to other side. biyght some potaotes in homebase for £2. were reduced as had really long sprouts. means they should be ready to plant!

    so plans for weekend-

    tonight

    type up MS

    tomorrow

    buy BBQ

    friday

    tidy garden and sweep rubbish
    move lavender
    dig up dead things
    plant potatoes
    plant seeds
finish stripping doorframes and sand down
go to chavsta for monthly shop (inc bargain £4 paint for ceiling)

    sat

get up at stupid oclock to wait for garden furniture to arrive
finish stripping/sanding doorframes if not done
fill in massive (and i mean massive) deep crack in doorframe
    paint ceiling in dining room
    grout in bathroom
paint doorframes and skirting with white paint if furniture arrives early

    sunday

gloss all woodwork in dining room
    tidy up house, clean upstairs
    do surveys

    monday

2 coats paint in dining room
    finish surveys

eek lots to do! if i dont get dining room walls done not too bothered as can do it next week. will see how i feel!

spent £13 of weekly spends so should be enough left for £10 BBQ, £4 paint and bag of coal (hope is cheap in chavsta!)

so stuck at work for another 30 mins in case phone rings. is pointless as i wont be able to go if we get a call out anyway! want to be outside

o well! have made goog use of time by googling tagine recipes as finally felt it time to put my tagine pot to good use! so going to try lemon chicken and potato tagine over weekend as got some spices when i was in marrakech :)

so today has been a NSD so far and going home after work so all good. putting bbq off as argos dont have the one i want in stock :( will look in chavsta tomorrow but if not might have to go homebase and buy identical one that is reduced in argos but for £7 more

as not getting bbq plans for tonight are one hour paint stripping and one hour of surveys.

received £154 in MS payments today so sent another £150 over to dad (could not wait until had £200!). will get £90 on about 10th may so hoping for more before then to get it up. all the jobs i have done last month are for a few co's and will be paid in dribs and drabs every few days.

    so productive two days-

have already done nearly all gloss already as well. just need to put a second coat on one small bit (not enough white paint underneath as stripped wood v dark). also need to pit a little bit more filler in crack, sand down, white paint and gloss.

going to broads tomorrow for picnic which will be nice so prob not much done. not sure what time but maybe in evening (when rest of gloss dry can sand and paint).

have set table up and sat at it! has a pims earlier and now on secondc and rather !!!!ed! just typed up a MS which was fun! going to have a bath soon... fingers crossed dont drown! :rotfl::p

so i'm still here and did not drown in bath! :)

so last weekend- got most of stuff done. unfortunately i spent £10 of weekly spends on grout etc in homebase thur and £26 on paint in b&q fri. (remaining £4 spent on sponsering a colleague). realised i needed large spade (rather than trowel) for garden so spent £7 in asda on one and bought wrong gloss so had to exchange and was extra £4. then needed to do 3 coats instead of 2 i had anticipated so had to dash out to wickes for more paint (£21 but enough for hall as well). so borrowed £32 from food budget.

didnt get bbq as no cheap ones in asda or bnq and no cash left. however argos had 1/2 price on bbqs this week so made a decision. if i had to pay back the £32 and pay £15 for bbq out of remaining weeks weekly spends would hardly be any left to actually do anything and would struggle to pay for salsa. in my repayment plan i had budgeted for a £150 payment to dad. on wed/thur i received £146 but i know i have at least another £90 coming from one co and should get another one or two random payments. so decided to use the £46 to pay for paint and bbq and then i can still use weekly spends and will still be able to make my final payment of the month (and it will be at least £50 more :) ) also know that i will be getting more than my aim of £250 MS money a month next month. also got one (possibly 2) evenings of overtime at work. so happy with that :)

so this week i have spent £9 on itunes (but used £10 of weekly spends to pay cc where itunes comes from as could not withdraw the £1!) and bought pint of milk and sweets at work. also put the £2 back into my food budget (along with £30 withdrawn from MS money). still got £26.82 to last until mon night. having curry takeaway at friends sat so should end up with some left.

been having a think and from next month think will do month 1-31st. atm i get paid on 19th so do it from then but now my wage will cover outgoings (excluding debt) but only just cover them. therefore i will keep that account seperate and it will look after itself. amy rent money and all MS money will continue to go into other bank account so on last day of month i will pay all of funds to whatever debt is scheduled in plan. makes more sense to do it at end of month as half my MS money comers from one co who pay just after 19th. also if get any extra pay such as overtime i will need to transfer it to other account to go out as debt repayment. as most money will be entering the account in second half of month might as well pay it sooner rather than leaving in account for a whole month til 19th of next month.

so what i plan to do is- on may 19th payday i will pay dad remaining money for loan 2 (once i have paid him the £200 it will only be £450) and clear credit card. i will also pay £188 as usual to loan 2. i will then transfer all money remaining (except basic pay) from new account into debt account. next debt to clear is the overdraft on this account (will be about £600).

on the 31st i will then pay any positive balance to dad if there is any. if not, all money will stay in there as trying to clear overdraft. hopefully dad wont mind getting payment on 30th june instead of 19th as it will be much larger than the normal £188. if not i will pay him £188 on 19th and then rest on 31st and continue to pay on 31st each month.

would really like to have cleared overdraft by 31st may. will need to check how much the backdated payrise is when it comes but should be on track. :D

    tired clippy! :(

finished decorating/cleaning dining room, just need to put curtains and pics up. need to get 3 small frames for some pics i bought on hol and a lampshade to match the living room one. will go to the range next weekend (hoping for a ms in a store in same retail park that is usually released around now)

have cleaned whole house and been swimming today. just been out to do a ms and walked about 2 miles! :A need to send results but cant be bothered! :o

so tomorrow i need to do jobs on list although have sent two of the emails to complain and have nearly completed one survey. really annoyed that i forgot to call a ms co on thur to rearrange a job i have booked for tomorrow. was only job available in city and dont mind walking in for one job but now booked 3 others for sat so would like to change it. annoyingly its one you cant change yourself :( will try and call tomorrow and hope they are open. o well i will obv do it anyway. then got friend(s?) round for roast dinner. :D

still no news on my switch date :( lots of bank hols dont help. impatient as want new account up and running before next wage. only 18 days till i can clear credit card and dad loan 2 and hope that in 30 days will also clear overdraft :j:beer::T:dance::dance::dance:

will be v excited to get my payslip and know how much it will come to :) then can play with spreadsheet. just noticed i have budgeted £250 in july for holiday but i go in july! and go around time rent is paid in. will rejig that to june when i know what funds will be coming.

v excited as not only will i be under £10k at end of may but i should be under £9k!!!! will be down to 4 figures! :T:j:dance:
