I'm back was posting at work so didn't have a lot of time, I've had the rubbish in my garden, I've bagged it up and stormed round with the simple message anymore of it and I'll be throwing my dogs waste over if were sharing gardens. The noise I get from the kids next door isn't helped by the gap between the houses it amplifies the noise so much that if I have my landing window open it's like there in the house with me, my solution is to open the window turn the speaker out and put some metal on, when they have to compete with that noise they disapear within 10 minutes, then I turn the music off and enjoy the peace.
I also never book time off work in school holidays, and I live near two local schools and the kids playing in the playgrounds can be heard from the house but it's never has bad as the 3 next door, I'm surprised they don't damage themselves screaming like that.

Don't worry it will be pi**ing it down again soon, they'll be inside then. Please don't begrudge them the chance to play out, you can't send your kids down to the local park to play anymore (well not if you're a responsible parent that is) my daughter and 2 of her friends have played in our garden today, throwing water bombs, chasing each other, playing on the trampoline, making a huge mess everywhere, but it's not very often these days that we get the weather for them to do this, i just close my ears and ignore them, you can do it if you try really hard. The trouble is at the moment, you focus on the noise because it annoys you, you can learn to ignore it. I have severe Tinnitus and have learned to ignore that, and i have that 24 hours a day !

this kind of post really annoys me surely kids should be kids long gone are the days when kids are seen and not heard i agree with others u should have thought more carefully when purchasing your flat the comunial garden isnt just for u to have your peace and quiet and to dry your laundry its for the kids to play also, as for marking the pavements surely u done that as a child (hopscotch), r u telling me that the kids should go elsewhere and play out of the mothers sight down some random park or hang around the streets where anything can happen to them?? me personally i like my kids to stay where i can see them....

as for the harsh remarks then your post was just asking for it

i have 3 noisy children and if they are making alot of noise, not just normal playing noise but really running riot and screaming and shouting i tell them they will be disturbing the neighbours and they need to play quieter or they will have to come inside, i dont like listening to screaming and shouting from my own kids so why should anyone else put up with it, i hope you manage to resolve the situation OP, just out of interest though..are they out there alone?

If the parents are not wiling to tell them to play a little more quietly so your ear drums are no longer bursting get yourself a book or a picnic sit in the garden take something that plays music and just turn it up until you cant here them. Hopefully when this family complain you can tell them it's necessary to have it that loud to hear over their kids

a lot of parents don`t keep their children under control these days and will completely ignore the fact that loud constant screaming will be very annoying to neighbours. There is a big difference between playing with laughter and shouting and screaming. I was one of 7 children with a lovely childhood, playing out in a big group every day amongst terraced houses in Liverpool but we were taught to be mindful of our neighbours, I suppose we were brought up to have empathy as were our three

My advice to op is to forward plan re a move away as you won`t get anywhere with this problem and in the meantime, take your bits and pieces down to the communal garden and use it yourself

i have 2 kids 4 and 6 we used to live in a 2 bed flat but moved due to lack of room and the fact we wanted our own garden for the kids to play in

but even knowing we are now in a house with a nice garden if i can hear them shouting i go out and tell them to calm down abit (takes a while but they get the hint)
just normal play i leave them be i mean real noise i stop end of the day we have neighbours and my kids should not ruin there day

as to balls ect going over the fence YES it happens how we deal with it is like this i talked with both neighbours when we moved in and explained we have young kids that there might be noise when they are playing there reply was well kids make noise no issue then i bought up about balls ect if my kids do kick s ball over they know to come and tell myself or there mum and then WAIT

it might take a few days ect then the neighbour will throw it back in to our garden and we thank them next time we see them

i have always found being nice and thinking about what my kids actions do to others helps tons with getting on with our neighbours

So why should the kids be the only ones allowed to enjoy being outside on a sunny day? Or even inside their home with the windows open.

Our local council have spent a lot of money improving the facilities at our local park, it's a pity the parents terrors of child abductors etc get in the way of allowing them to use them.
