Glad to read an update from you (and had to giggle at the mood swing part, my mother spends the first 3 or 4 months of each of my pregnancies asking DH how he's not yet tried to kill me as I am so volatile to be around during that time LOL ... it does pass, honestly!)
If the morning sickness does continue to be a big problem then do tell her to go back to the doctors and tell them it is becoming problematic to her day to day living, with my first I was violently sick 10+ times a day from 5 weeks pregnant up until 7.5months pregnant, to the point I was 2 entire dress sizes smaller the day I gave birth to her than I was the day I conceived her (only person I've ever known have to buy post-baby clothes because all her old clothes were too big!) It was only after she was born people told me my doctors could have given me medication to help, so it is available if she needs it.
Do keep us updated.:j BSC #101 :j0 -

Hey, I have read through and followed the whole story (okay i admit i skipped to the end after reading page 2! lol)
I am glad your daughter has come to a decision. The councilling was an amazing idea as she was gettting a lot of pressure for her bf and his family to abort and your family trying to balance the arguement may have lead her to feel pressure to keep the baby. now she has talked it through and reached her own decisiion she has no one to blame when times are tough ;-)
Do you have sure start/ childrens centres where you are? it may be worth contacting them to see if they run young parents groups/ teenage buddy schemes etc. she may be able to attend the group while pregnant to here how other young parents have coped and make some friends and a support network.
Good luck I hope all goes well for her:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

HI Taxi and Toni!
thanks for the update - when I had my first I had the most horrendous morning, noon and night sickness! I was offered Thalidomide for it - Thank all the Gods and Goddesses that my midwife was of the old school and when I complained about the morning sickness she rather sharply told me it was a sign the pregnancy was strong and should be grateful for it! so I refused medication - as she also told me about the ginger biccies and soda water before I got up - that helped a lot - so did ginger ale when I was feeling a bit siccy.
sounds like Toni's boyf is having a 'last' fling before he becomes a dad? could be hun - he is very young and at least he hasnt completely deserted her.
I am very sure this baby will want for nothing - he/she already has an enormous amount of love to help him/her into the world!
oh - and I had plenty of scans and got different due dates at each one and the babe was usually born around the FIRST date!0 -
Just read this thread, I'm glad things are going well for your family. I had my son at 18 and he's now 10 it's been tough and a journey but we have a very happy and settled family life now. All the best to your daughter0

Can I just say (and I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it!) that just because a women doesn't have morning sickness doesn't mean her pregnancy isn't strong! I was just concerned that a women in early pregnancy might read that and worry (as we all do in early pregnancy!):heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
