Hi everyone,
Thank goodness it's Friday.
Have decided to cancel my veg box. I have had 2 deliveries but wasn't impressed by the limp carrots and scabby cabbage, I know I should expect some degree of scabbiness but really the cabbage was only about 3" in diameter before I started removing the bad leaves. DH was very unimpressed so I think I'll look for another source.
Planning to make a game casserole this weekend with some reduced packs of meat and a partridge I got cheap. I love game!
Other plans are to go Chrimbo shopping, take the dog for a long walk (if it doesn't pour down) and maybe buy and decorate the tree.

Need to go out later but having some time on here while it is nice and quiet.

Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Just realised I threw the big pan out I had, have had to make a smaller casserole/stew, must have thought well I only buy convenience foods now so don't need it and threw it out, I am gutted, will have to buy another, or maybe get my slow cooker I want
Managed to get the washing on the line, hopefully reduce what needs to go in the dryer. One day I might be more organised...........

Well we now have a new window, took 3 hours, not too much mess to clear up, it was to replace a window where the seaal had broken down.
Not such a good night last night OH was restless, ended up reading till 1.30am and woke just before 7am, but I can have a snooze this afternoon if I need one.
Not much OS going on right now, just taking it steady.......haggis neeps and tatties tonight, should have had them last night (OH is a Scot) but I was knocked out after our shopping trip.......
Very dull dank day.....miserable, I hate this weather.......
Nothing planned for the weekend except get myself fit, we have had a little trip planned for 2 days next week, need to be ok for that.

Hi everyone
Usual up at 6 (well, BIG black cat got me up at 5:50 so I stayed up and got an early start on penninewoman's toast.
Then, after making sure she had everything for her big day at the local football ground, I sloped off back to bed for a couple of hours.
Now have taken masses of cardboard packaging to recycle centre in the hills; bought Saturday morning's butcher's shopping today; collected paper to read over lunch - which I still need to make - pork and apple burgers with ???? not sure yet - something green probably; put left-over floor boards into garage (which must surely burstsoon.)
Really should wrap the last of penninewoman's pressies today I think. Was good of the Guardian to give away wrapping paper each day this week. Great money-saving.
Have a good day everyone and be glad it's not like this . . . . . . yet.Where now?0 -
morning folks!
not been very OS-y this week, haven't been terribly well the last few days, OH was off poorly last week and in doing everything i usually do plus everything he usually does .. i think wore me down to the point of exhaustion, i had a few days of sleeping 11-12 hours at once, and resting up in bed while *he* ran around for a change... and i have to say i feel better for it.
however, its messed up the meal planner somewhat, fortunately i haven't thrown anything out and some of the things i was going to cook will keep for the next 2 weekly cycle instead.
The last couple of days have seen me getting very stressed and   about the gas.. they've been consistently underestimating us, refusing to move us from business to residential customers, and this morning a gas bill for £213 arrived - this is for a small, 1 bed flat. granted some of it (176 quid) is money we owed from previous bills, but even with that, we've apparently burned £147 worth of gas, paid £110 of it... and this is with the heating *off* between August and November. In reality i know the situation is far worse because there's about 300 units difference between what their estimate is, and what our meter says - and not in a good way, either. We've got a financial adviser (bit like the CAB, but not the CAB, just local to this area as its a poverty hit area) who is mediating between us and them but when we get this, and an offer for a new business contract between Jan 07 and Jan 08 at *twice* the price per kWh that we've been paying up till now.. i just despair, i really do. I've emailed her now, and we're seeing her next Wed, so i just have to try to put it out of my mind now, but its getting to the point where i won't have the heating on and i'm scared to even cook.. *sighs*.
This weekend i'm aiming to work on some xmas pressies, some of which i can't mention here cos my best friend reads this site too. I spent last night doing xmas cards and i now got a lovely stack of them, i think another night like last night should see me having made all the ones i need to have made. Xmas decorations for us don't go up till a week tomorrow: OH refuses to have them up until after Sinterklaas (5th Dec), which is the feast of St Nicholas in the Netherlands and is a huge holiday over there (christmas is much quieter for them).
anyway... must crack on.. hope everyone has a good day!

Hi everybody!! OK naughty colours over and done with but they are festive:D
Haven't ready what you busy little bees have been up to yet but hugs to those who need them.
OH has ordered the beef for Xmas day...£30:eek: but hey ho it'll feed at least 8 of us and there be leftovers. We're trying out a butcher in the town and it will give me great pleasure not to put my money into MR T's till this year! When I got back last night OH was merrily planning the menus for over the Chrimbo period...cue lots of Chrimbo smilies:snow_laug :xmassmile :rudolf: :snow_grin :snow_grin !!Something gives me the impression he's a rather excited OH!!
OS today has been beds stripped, linen changed and bins emptied. Tonight it's a mad dash home to have tuna bake and then off to the bazaar. Big glass of mulled wine here I come.:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a fabby weekend

Afternoon all!
Happy Birthday Thriftlady! Have a good one
Didnt have a good night last night - couldn't sleep but couldn't stay up because my back was hurting, so I just lay in bed fidgeting and annoying OH. Got a Galaxy truffle in my advent calendar this morning though :j
Well, got my mirror all finished now and it looks beautiful - considering we only paid a pound for it I am well chuffed! Just waiting for OH to get back now so we can hang it.
Got my first issue of the Tesco food club mailing this morning and I'm qute impressed. Some of the recipes look yummy.
Other than that, have almost finished typing up James Martins cookbook. Washing went on last night and is currently drying. All the plants have been cut down at the back of our flat (looks much better), so later on we're going to play 'Operation Laundry Retrieval' - sometimes, the laundry blows off the line on the balcony and into the abyss below, but now we can actually get to it, so am going to get it back.
Job wise, had two letters of rejection this morning - am getting kinda disheartened becase money is running out, but I will keep on trying - looks like I'll have to go back to kitchen work in the meantime though
Hope you all have a good dayWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

I had a cheese & sweet chilli sauce toastie, which was a new experiment - OMG it was gorgeous!
Currently feel as if my right arm has fallen off - the DW has brokenI've been washing up by hand all week, it's a nightmare! Fingers crossed that a) the repair main turns up tomorrow & b) it doesn't cost too much to fix.
Just bought a prezzie online for my nephew & written my Christmas cards, so am getting into the festive spirit slowly.
Faffing around waiting for my boss to call, for us to have a conversation that we should have had on Monday. He's a great boss but flippin' useless at calling when he says he willThen once OH gets in, we're off to the gym, first one for a month so it's going to be tough.....
have a lovely weekend one & all0
